MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

Good luck to Traore at UCSB....curve ball for sure.....but that could mean

A. it was either/or with him and Hugley

B. we had someone else we are prioritizing at the moment

C. or he REALLY like Cali

either way....I'd rather have Collins if he is an option.

I'd like to think this is a reaction to Collins entering the portal and agreeing to join us. I doubt it, but it's a nice dream. The reality is that he probably wanted to start, and none of the schools he visited offered that.

I want Collins, but he's not a must-have. There are plenty of options left.

Sounds like he’s just not as good as his high school ranking.

Like somebody else mentioned in recent days, he isn't a plug and play starter at a school like OU. He's a kid that needs a decent amount of development still. So at a major school, he's transferring to come off the bench. Guessing he didn't like that. Now he's closer to home and at a smaller school where I'm guessing his minutes will be greater, which is probably what he wants. Kind of a win-win for him in that he'll get to play out there, and if he stands out, and he can probably transfer back to a bigger school if that is what he wants (assuming the NCAA doesn't actually start cracking down on multi-transfer kids).

It was one or the other I was told.

Id take Hugley for 3 year potentially.

You may start seeing these small school moves as defacto juco schools

wing that can play spot min at the 4 ..

i think they will bring in someone to start at the 4

Gotta hope so. This guy would be a solid 3, but a 4? Yeah. I'm not a fan of the continued Jalen Hill type of player at 4 experiment. I did think Jalen progressed decently through his time at OU though.

SOARES IS A GUARD!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately he is a guard who can’t shoot a lick. It’s funny how much some people bag on Hill’s shooting, but it apparently doesn’t bother some of you that this guy is a guard who is an awful shooter.

Has anyone watched Oregon enough to have a feel for what else he may bring to the table? And I don’t care about highlight videos. A guard who can’t shoot and doesn’t jump off the page in other area doesn’t excite me, but if there is something to his game that stays don’t capture, I’m all ears. Is he Kevin McCullar or Macy’s Garrett defensively? I’ve read some of the articles about him and nothing suggests that.

As I said, it just seems strange he would make a lateral move and willingly go from starting to the bench.

There are slashers that don’t shoot it well and still very effective. 2 years at UO he didn’t shoot well: at juco he shot 35% if I remember correctly.

I don’t think PM, Gates, dildy.. are saying come here and start is guaranteed. Come here. Best conf in America and let the players sort it out.

So he’s a guard that can’t shoot. I’ve seen enough of those at OU for one lifetime
