MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

The haters are going to have a field day if it is him. Mid-major forward with physical limitations, who balled against a 1 seed in the tournament and had all conference honors as well…sounds vaguely familiar…

I would much rather have Tyson (near perfect fit) but he would be a decent consolation at this point. He is basically a wash with Jalen Hill imo. Mushila actually played better against the pokes this year (1 game) than Jalen hill did (3 games). Also Mushila played well against bama (hill obviously played his best game against bama, too) and in the first four game.

Mid major is charitable. That’s a very low level of competition. 30th out of 32 leagues.

I know you can’t stand Hill as a player, but it’s hard to think this guy would walk into the Big 12 and be one of the best defensive players in the league and average at/near double digits.

Settle for enough consolation prizes and you settle for 15-win seasons.

It's also about PM's vision, or lack-thereof, for the program. His recruiting is all over the place. Big/small. Can shoot/cannot shoot. Young/experienced.

The guy is grasping at straws rather than identifying what he wants, what the roster needs, what will compliment the other players, and going and getting it.

This is not even remotely true, in any way.

Sure it’s disappointing, but there’s no need to post such nonsense.
For the combination of basketball and football, it is definitely true. We are thin at WR in football and Jordyn is very good. Jaylon would have been the best basketball player we've gotten since Trae Young. Easily. Reaves turned out to be a star his senior year. He wasn't while coming out of WSU. OU basketball hasn't had a good rebounder/athletic post-ish player as long as I can remember. Jaylon shoos 40% from 3 along with 10 points and 6 boards. That's a fantastic package with his brother that impacts both sports tremendously.

McCullough brothers? The younger one won't ever see playing time here. Dasan is very good, but I am talking about dual impact on basketball/football.

Jaylon is a wing .... (now i think he would have played the 4 at OU but he is not really a 4 )

and AR coming out of wichita state was 8.1 3 and 2 on .450/.425/.827 shooting on a team that finished the season ranked 16th overall in the country ..

Jaylon put up good numbers on a bad team .. he is a good player and I certainly wanted him to come to OU but lets not make him something he is not ..

Who was better since TY? I'd love to hear it. You can throw out Harmon as the only other that's debatable, as far as projected impact on a team. I would take Tyson over Sherfield. Athletic rebounding wing/PF who can shoot the 3 well is more valuable than a volume scoring guard IMO, especially when considering OU hasn't had anyone close to that in ages.

I agree, but it’s also interesting that every time we do sign a player, you hype them up. Every time we miss on a guy, you downplay it. I don’t know or care much about the WR, but the basketball player would have really helped us. He is probably the best of the players we have been in on this cycle.

I’m not sure we were ever in on him. He didn’t visit did he?

nope OU did an in home on the day he was going to commit to Cal they wanted him to come visit last weekend .. he didn't and then committed to Cal .

no one ever though OU lead on him or that OU was going to get him ..

Does anyone know why we weren’t all over Tyson the moment he entered the portal? Was he not interested until his brother was offered by the football team? For him to choose Cal makes me think we could have gotten him with a more concentrated effort from the beginning. Maybe he said “thanks but no thanks” initially.

correct he was not interested in OU his brother possibly coming to OU gave OU an opening and they took their shot ..

You may want to check the thread posted two nights ago asking for predictions on the remaining two scholarships. There were multiple predictions that we would land him. That, plus the frequent chatter last week that he and his brother wanted to end up at the same place, plus the talk that KU was out, certainly provided reasons for people following the board to think we had a very real chance. And if the coaching staff flew out to make an in-home, it sur seems like they thought the same way.

i think all thought that if OU could get him to visit then they had a great shot to get him ... that was always the caveat ..

LSU's NIL packages are insane. Over $5 million for just these three ladies.

Edited to add: sorry if this is the wrong thread... feel free to move or delete, I just thought it was interesting.

And you cannot peruse the net on a given day w/o seeing pics of the blonde. Now there are more things to complain about but it is sure strange how some things play out in life and this is one example.

These endorsements are pretty widely known so they’re not making it up. Dunne has deals with Under Armor, AE, and several others.
