You may want to check the thread posted two nights ago asking for predictions on the remaining two scholarships. There were multiple predictions that we would land him. That, plus the frequent chatter last week that he and his brother wanted to end up at the same place, plus the talk that KU was out, certainly provided reasons for people following the board to think we had a very real chance. And if the coaching staff flew out to make an in-home, it sur seems like they thought the same way.
I think the staff going out to meet him was more about TRYING to get in on him than actually thinking they had him. They didn't even have a seat t the table before that.
