+++Oklahoma (16-10, 6-7) vs. Kansas (21-6, 10-4) Pregame Thread+++

I'm guess we lose by 17-20. Couldn't come at a worse time. We are in a tail spin and they have to win to stay alive in the conference race.

Every game is hopeless based on our effort lately. We need a drastic change to light a fire under this team.

Perfect spot for us.

Nothing to lose

Go out and play with your hair on fire and shock the squaks

Not sure why, but this feels like an OU win to me. A big losing streak, wheels coming off, etc.... then a bounce back win at KU and everyone is feeling good again.

I agree that this sets up well for us. Kansas just isn't particularly good, plus we matchup well with them.

At the beginning of the season we were shooting at an unsustainably high level. For the past 3 weeks, we've been shooting unsustainably poorly. Hopefully we regress to the mean and guys shoot at a reasonable percentage tonight.

Not sure how anyone can think we are going to play well but I appreciate the hope.

If we hadn't played well ALL season I could understand your comment!! But this time has played very well at times and still has more top 10 wins than ANY team in the country!!!

I can understand the frustration because we simply haven't played well AT ALL the last 5-6 games, but if we can shoot it well, we could definitely be in this game with a chance to win.

TY has shot 10-51 from 3 in the past 5 games!! That's a shade over 20%!!! He's a much better shooter than that...and all teams go through a slump at some point and usually snap out of it! Will that be tonight for us???

Trae's shooting percentage is more a result of good defense, shot selection and forcing shots than it is being in a shooting slump. JMHO!

Sure we can shoot better than we have and I hope we do but am not expecting it. However, I highly doubt our coaching has made us a better defensive team since Saturday and even if we have improved shooting I think KU will shoot better than us.

Hoping I am wrong.

I think it is some of both but there is no doubt that teams have figured out the right way to defend us versus earlier in the season. I don’t think you can use earlier wins to think we are going to have a game like we did at Wichita, for example.

Still can't understand how so many people keep acting like KU is some.mediocre team this season. Sure, it isn't their best or most talented team, but they are in first place and would likely be a number one seed in the NCAA tournament as of today. If that equates to not particularly good, sign me up for OU being not particularly good any day of the week!

A somewhat sad state of affairs when watching the Olympics is more compelling than watching OU play Kansas in basketball. I need to find Lucy.

Kansas will run them out of the building most likely, but there always hope I guess.

I've had hope for 7 games...not this one.

Trae shot an airball...not one defender near him. His 3 pt shooting isn't due to great in your face defense...imho.

^^^^ This. Not sure Spock and I have been watching the same games.

Kansas hasn't run anyone of consequence out of the gym all year. They have played everyone close all year.

Likewise, even though we've been losing, we haven't been run out of the gym by teams. The only team that just stomped us was K-State in Manhattan.

Also, for those who are gambling inclined: why the hell is the o/u on this game at 166?
