*****Oklahoma-Cincinnati Game Thread*****

Neal was in there for way to long, he was a defensive liability and rebounding liability on top of missing wide open 3's. We should have switched out Cam when the double digit lead was cut in half.

Frustrating loss

Missouri is going to abuse us with our lack of ball handling.

we gave them the damn game. fouled them every possession, didn't box out, didn't play help D, played loose with the ball. if that locker room isn't destroyed after that game I'm gonna be pissed at the team.

Carl Blair's foul on the 3 pointer let Cinci get the score down to 10...Tyler Neal's miss on the front end of the 1 and 1 hurt...that let Cinci go down and get within 6 I believe...allowing Cinci to drive to the basket late was frustrating, but they had a lot more quickness than OU on the court and it showed...I wish we would've gotten a better look than a 25 footer by Pledger with 4 seconds on the clock...frustrating that an otherwise solid outing was undone by some headscratching decisions and plays in the last 6 minutes...

Good Lord, some of you need to chill out.

Haven't been this mad in three years? LMAO. I was more upset after just about every single game over the last two years. We all know this team is a work in progress. Depth killed us. That is going to kill us all season. The team played hard, and smart for the majority of the game. Refs didn't lose us the game, but they certainly didn't help. Tough loss, but we'll rebound. Of that I'm sure.

DANGIT! I know i shouldn't expect much but we HAD that one in the bag!

I'm disappointed in the D, too, but it's hard to win on the road when the opposing players have the officials on their side. Wright drives, gets touched by Neal, and gets a foul call for a three-point play. Osby scores in close, gets thwapped on the head while shooting, but no whistle.

We'd be in OT right now if the officials had gotten it right on just that one play.

At least OU did not get blown out. Capel would have lost by 15.

Yeah! At least we didn't get blown out! Boomer Sooner!

we should have been pounding it inside the last 8 minutes of that game. Does anyone else feel Osby needs to be more assertive on the offensive end? Especially since Clark has lost his shot...

Tough, heart breaking loss. I thought the turning point was when Blair fouled the three point shooter, then Neal missed the front end of the 1 and 1.

Depth is not an excuse when the other team had 4 players suspended, another who fouled out 5 minutes into the second half, and had nobody on the roster over 6'5 for the final 15 minutes.

I agree. Once he started missing those 3-pointers, it was time to yank him out since he was a liability on defense. This wasn't Lon's best coached game, but no one's perfect.

The reaction is what I feared when we experienced some surprising early success. This team will struggle in league, but you gotta love the direction we are headed.......

Clark got pushed around and got knocked out of his game. He has to get tougher or take a seat on the bench.

I am disappointed that OU did not get the ball to Fitzgerald down the stretch. Pledgers last second shot looked like last season. OU could have gotten a better shot.

I would have liked to see Blair, pledger, Fitzgerald, Osby, and Grooms down the stretch. Cam had a bad game and Neal doesn't have the ball handling skill for late game situations.

Grooms has got to pass the ball to Blair. Blair was wide open multiple times and Grooms forced things to other people. Carl can shoot and he does not force things.

Yep. Like I said, most people probably thought we would lose tonight anyway. We will learn from this and next time a team employs that kind of pressure D, we will respond better.

Now is when the real season starts anyway.
