OU @ Baylor 8pm CST on ESPNU

BV has won national titles and knows what it takes. Moser is barely above .500 as a coach. Mediocre. I disagree with your entire premise. This is a basketball board, so that’s all I’m going to say. I don’t want to derail this thread any further.

BV’s resume as a head coach consists of our 1st losing season since John Blake. On the other point, you basically just said you expect sears (ou basketball) to make similar revenue as wal mart (ou football). A program that is produced 7 national titles with 3 different coaches versus a program that has 0. A program valued over a billion dollars versus a barely profitable program.

Right, but anyone who’s coached basketball before can watch that team and say that Bam and Oweh are the two best athletes on the floor and should have been given time to adjust early on.

I know he wants to win every game and we didn’t have any easy ones this year … but they needed court time.

I agree with this. As bad as Bam looked you have to think in his previous stops he wasn't that bad, even though the Big 12 is better comp. Both of those guys showed at least average handles last night. Sometimes, kind of like a running back in football, you have to find a rhythm. Neither player has gotten that chance until now. I understand wanting to win more games, but like someone else said, what did playing Noland and JGroves get us? Don't see what it could have hurt.. Especially in those crucial times when those two couldn't guard anybody, couldn't score, or get a rebound.. all things both of those guys(Otega and Bam) did against Baylor. Of course it's one game. Will be interesting to see how each does the next 8 games. But please, at least give them minutes....

With the roster BV was left combined with Big12 refs, 6-6 is what you get. Nobody worth a crap wanted any of our players that left through the portal. That’s a reflection of how bad the talent had become.

We will check back in 3 years and you can apologize then for your ignorant take on this issue.

I disagree with this regarding the football team. We didn’t have a roster that could be a national contender but we had more talent than almost every team in our league. As one example, we have far more guys invited to the combine this year than KSU. We lost to some teams we had no business losing to. The defense certainly lacked talent, but offensively, we had more than enough in place. My hope is that Brent makes major strides in his game management next season.

Comparing a coach with 20 years of head coaching experience in one sport with a first-year head coach in another sport is ... a reach.

Making excuses for the football team this year. smh

💯 agree. We finished 3.5 wins below our vegas projection. That is 28th out of 29 for 1st year coaches across the country. Tony Elliot the only coach who did worse. There are no excuses for that type of performance for ou football.

Just like Moser, I believe BV will turn it around. BV and staff earned an A+ in recruiting.

I totally agree about JG looking like a fish out of water most of the time this year but we have also seen him get hot and light it up from behind the line throughout his career. I was upset in the first half when he made two buckets in a row, a 3 and a 2 then PM immediately pulled him. Ride the hot hand at least for a couple of possessions.

I'm very glad to see that the light might turning on for Bamasile, but I have no problem with him not seeing time previously. When he did he was generally not just so-so, but awful.

This is a good point. He looked like he hadn’t played basketball at times. Just a perfect storm this year i suppose.
