@BPrzybylo: Creighton coach Greg McDermott on #Sooners G Buddy Hield: "So impressed with what he has added to his game from a year ago."

Creighton coach on Buddy Hield: "Last year he was a shooter, this year he's a basketball player." #Sooners

Looked up at the scoreboard during the last media timeout and was like "wait...32...already?" Heck of a game by Buddy yesterday.

He did miss 2 free throws, which dropped him down to a FT percentage of .875 (42-48).

Just kidding of course. Buddy is getting to the line and making the FTs when he gets there. Only three Sooners have made more than 10 free throws so far.

Season Free Throws / 10 or More Attempts

42-48 (.875) .... Buddy Hield
18-19 (.947) .... Jordan Woodard
13-21 (.619) .... Ryan Spangler
_8-18 (.444) .... Isaiah Cousins
_8-14 (.571) .... Akolda Manyang
_8-13 (.615) .... Rashard Odomes
_8-11 (.727) .... Christian James
_6-10 (.600) .... Khadeem Lattin

Interestingly, Jordan Woodard led the team in FT makes and FT attempts last season (129-154) while Buddy was next (107-130) followed by TaShawn Thomas (85-123).

Last year, the team averaged 19.1 FT attempts per game. This season it is 21.8 FT attempts per game, so far.

A couple things: I wasn't able to watch the game yesterday, why the reverse in minutes between Buford and Odomes/James? We haven't seen Dante play this many meaningful minutes since Memphis, and other guys on the bench did not play as much? Any reason for that? Just curious. 2nd, it's only off 18 shots, but man Cousins should be a better FT shooter. His 3 Pt. % might be higher lol

Cousins is shooting a better % from 3 pt than FT. Odd indeed.
And I too am puzzled by Buford's increase in minutes and the drop for James and Odomes. Anyone with some insight?

Buford's minutes were about match ups. Needed to get Spangler a break but couldn't go small because creighton had two big guys in the game. Walker was playing great so James and odomes didn't have many minutes.
