I have a feeling this is going to be a crazy Dance. A lot of parity this year, and a lot of teams "at the top" that I feel are very beatable.

Agreed. The rash of upsets we have already seen this season seems to suggest there are no truly dominant teams. Should be an interesting first round!

Upsets everywhere. Lot of good basketball out there

We are in danger of missing the tournament if teams like Liberty and Tulsa slip in ahead of us.

Guards are what matters in the tournament. Gonzaga, SDSU, Baylor, Oregon, Stanford, Marquette are teams I'd watch.

Another year on the bubble. We don't have near as much cushion this year compared to 2018 and 2019. We were ranked in late January both of those seasons.

Yep, sad state of affairs

If OU is going to be a double digit seed, I hope they are a 12 seed since there always seems to be a 12/5 upset. OU has been on the wrong side of those upsets, so it would be nice to be one the other side.

If Tulsa were to receive an at large bid it would likely be at the expense of another fellow conference team which was supposed to get a bid.

Not a great dispay but road records are tough besides baylor and KU.

Even though it is broken out in the above layout you have, the committee usually pairs up road/neutral record as a better indicator of how you play away from home. Our R/N record is 5-5.....which is a positive.

still odd to me that playing Oregon st in Oregon and mizzou in Missouri are considered neutral

Those wins are getting worse too. I wouldn't be surprised to see both of them around .500 or worse when it all settles. Same for Minnesota.

There is some good and bad that goes along with rankings....as far as perception. Since we were ranked the last two Januarys, it could be perceived that we limped to the finish both of those seasons....which we did. Thus, a different narrative can be created for the team this year IF they actually improve and have a better conference record. That's one way of looking at it.

I believe we actually have more cushion this year because:
a) college basketball is down in general (no group of super teams); thus the "bubble" will be down again....with numerous marginal teams vying for the last several spots.
b) outside of the top 2, we have more "winnable" conference games, especially on the road
c) we have one really good non-con win and our (3) non-con losses are all to highly probable tournament teams.
d) our SOS will be end up being top 5

Regardless, in the end, this team has to perform and win. It would be beyond beneficial to get two of these three home scalps (WV, Tech, Baylor)....and I don't think that is asking too much. But we are probably ok if we only get one of those, so long as this team takes care of business @osu, @tcu, and @ksu (although those are far from a given). We are still on the good side of the bubble.....for now. 8-10 in conference very likely gets us in....although we should have higher expectations.
