In a battle of third-place teams, Oklahoma (19-7, 8-5) hosts Kansas State (18-8, 8-5) on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT inside Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners, who are 11-3 at home this season, are coming off a 77-74 road win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Wildcats, who are 1-5 in true road games, fended off TCU at home on Wednesday, 65-53.

Saturday’s contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KRXO 107.7 FM "The Franchise" in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa; Sirius 85; XM 85) with Toby Rowland and Mike Houck calling the action. The game will be televised by the Big 12 Network (KOCB Ch. 34 in OKC; KMYT Ch. 41 in Tulsa) with Dave Armstrong and Darrin Horn announcing.
THE SERIES
Oklahoma owns a 104-94 all-time record against Kansas State and has won 11 of the last 18 meetings, although the Wildcats have won the last three. The Sooners are 59-26 all-time in the series in Norman. Since the formation of the Big 12, OU holds a 12-9 series lead (6-3 at Lloyd Noble Center).
PREVIEWING KANSAS STATE
Picked fifth with Oklahoma in the Big 12 preseason coaches poll, Kansas State (18-8, 8-5) is tied with OU and Iowa State for third place. K-State began the year with a 2-3 record before reeling off 10 straight wins to jump into the AP Top 25 in January. The Wildcats, who have won four of their last six, are one of the league’s top defensive clubs. In Big 12 play, they lead the league in field goal percentage defense (.403) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (.299), and rank second in scoring defense (68.6 ppg). On offense, K-State ranks eighth in conference play in scoring (70.9 ppg), third in field goal percentage (.452), fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.352) and ninth in free throw percentage (.661).
Guard Marcus Foster is one of the Big 12’s top freshmen and one of three Wildcats averaging double figures in points. Foster scores a team-high 15.0 points a contest and averages 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting .383 from 3-point range (team-high 59 makes). He has reached double digits in points in each of the last five games and is averaging 21.6 during the stretch with the help of 15-for-32 3-point shooting (.469). Junior forward Thomas Gipson averages 11.8 points and a team-high 6.5 rebounds an outing, and is shooting a team-best .566 from the field. He is coming off a 16-point, 11-rebound effort in Wednesday’s win over TCU. Senior guard Shane Southwell contributes 10.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and a team-high 3.1 assists per game. Southwell has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury.
Kansas State is under the direction of head coach Bruce Weber, who is in his second season with the Wildcats (45-16 record). Last season’s Big 12 Coach of the Year, Weber is in his 16th year as a head coach (also coached at Southern Illinois and Illinois).
