OU offers 2018 SG Keonte Kennedy

I saw him play in the state semifinal against eventual state champ Allen. He was on a team with lots of D1 players, including Texas commit Brock Cunningham and was the best Westlake player on the court that night, by far. He was aggressive and strong with the ball. He can shoot it. Good player. Would be a good get but teams are lining up to get him.

Man....Offers are rolling in for this kid. I wonder if we have a shot?

What offers are you seeing that I'm not? I see a few solid ones (OU, Ark, Xavier), and a bunch of mid-major types.

To me, at first glance, this is the type of kid we've been recruiting that really hasn't amounted to much and ends up taking up a scholarship for 4 years. Doubt he'd play much next year, and we're all hoping for some immediate impact guards in 2019, so I'm not sure how interested I'd be in this kid. But that's just me.

Virginia Tech, Memphis, Texas Tech, Baylor, SMU. Also interest is picking back up with him since he's back on the market.

See post above. Looks like a great get to me

I like what I’ve seen in the videos I watched. I am also impressed by the number of schools that want this kid, now at 27 with OU’s offer. They’re not all high majors, but it’s easy to believe that may come in time now that he has opened up his recruiting again.

Ghost of Gar Heard liked want he saw in person. I’m sold too. Looks like a great get to me as well!

1. He was a Xavier commit until a few days ago. He can play. They were a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament this year. I'm a little surprised he's not a 4 star guy but the fact that he's gotten multiple offers from several really good schools after being on the market just 3 or 4 days should tell you something about how good coaches and teams think he can be.

2. He honestly probably would have a small impact next year but he'd be just a freshman. He'd come in, play some, learn, and have a big impact over 4 years. He's not a grad transfer that we need to come in and dominate next year and next year only.

He can play defense. He can handle the ball. He can shoot. He's not as good as Bieniemy in my opinion (but I've really just seen him once). I would say that he has Cousins-like potential. He's obviously not there yet and probably after his freshman year some here would be questioning whether or not he's "OU good" but I think his potential is to be a 4 year player who starts a couple of those years. A good, solid 4 year player. Why turn that down?

we need dogs... this guy is a old school dog.

Many thought Cousins wasn't OU good for 3 years. It's always a process. Does going after KK shut down on Reaves?

Plus he's teamates with 2019 C Will Baker, which couldn't hurt our chances there.

Ill take 3 cousins on every team!

I think its options... Reaves and KK.

I'd have to agree, with no insider knowledge. But common sense says that when both these kids are being recruited by so many schools, you don't just put all your eggs in one basket. If by good fortune both these guys were to want to come to OU, I don't think there would be any issue making that happen.

CoachTalk or anyone: Who would the coaches prefer? Reaves or Kennedy?

no insider but I think who wants it...

KK came out in some article and said 3-4 teams were on him the hardest... OU wasnt one.. so maybe that means Reaves? Pure guess

Class of 2018 SG @KeonteKennedy tells me Baylor, Virginia Tech, SMU, and Texas Tech have been working the hardest since his release from Xavier, and that he may visit Baylor.

Thst kid is extremely athletic. He would be a very solid get. I'd take him for sure.

Long, athletic, can jump out of the gym and makes it look effortless.

Bob Przybylo on SoonerScoop says they prefer Reaves but just slightly. They would be happy with Kennedy. Reaves just has more experience which they need after next season with the roster makeover of 6 graduating seniors.
