OU vs TCU on ESPN2 now

Nice win. AR had another great game in Ft Worth.

We played really well in the second half. 43-36, outrebounded them 18-13. Workmanlike.

I know everyone hates what happened on that last play, but our offense is so much more diverse than it was last year.

UTSA - 21 assists on 34 baskets
TCU - 17 assists on 28 baskets

A terrific win, especially considering it was just our second game (and TCU's fifth) and on the road, to boot.

It was nice to see Williams and Gibson have key contributions. Harmon, Manek and Reaves all were very good. The rebounding battle was nearly a wash, and we outshot them from the field. The percentages from the line and from three were very close (we were better from the charity stripe by a bit; they were better from deep by a similarly slim margin).

All in all, a very satisfying win, and hopefully it prepares us for a very tough matchup in Cincinnati.

Was thinking the exact same thing.

I think you'll see him play a role similar to Schroder for OKC last year. He's a starter, but he's coming off the bench and running the team against the other team's second unit so we don't have those big scoring lulls, and he'll finish the game out with the starters most nights. Will probably be second or third on the team in minutes ...

Yep....we all figure that LK knows Harmon is the better player and even though he isn't starting, he will end up with "starter minutes" on most nights anyway, And the Schroder/Thunder comparison is accurate.

Re: OU vs TCU on ESPN2

I agree that Harmon is playing better, but I also think Gibson is a lot more capable than we have seen so far. Keep in mind that he’s still adjusting to new teammates and to a new offense, one where he is not in the lead guard role he was accustomed to playing at UNC. Give him time and you’ll see what I mean.

That said, I wouldn’t have a problem if Lon decided to start Harmon. He is much improved this season.

course missed the dame game...anyone know if a replay is scheduled?

thanks

Great game. TCU shot amazing & OU still won.

Harmon is definitely better. Gibson had a great scoring game against OU & that has skewed his abilities.

We outshot TCU, 52%-44%. They outshot us from deep but not by much, 36%-33%.

OU was contesting better than TCU. TCU had guys that can’t shoot make shots. Context matters.

We need Victor back to help on the glass.

He will when he gets back. Hope some mins vs Xavier.

I'm rewatching now, and I've gotta say, that TCU hardwood floor is not only ugly, it has a strange, annoying glare that makes it very unpleasant to watch on TV.

Looks like we finally have some depth. Add Victor and we have a legit 9 deep.

Liked Manek's inside game. He needs to put it up quick or kick out. Two bad turnovers trying to maneuver. Still having problems with treys on the road. Needs to shake that off.

I thought the defense was good. They hit some insane shots. Also think they got some bailout calls. Oh well, life on the road.

Still concerned with weakness inside. Gave up too many offensive rebounds.

Good game to win on road.

Seems like all of the guys are getting in the flow of the game. Phipps less than others but hit a pretty shot.
