Just saw on Sooner Sports that Bradford is going to be attending OU-Texas in a few weeks... looks like we're doing pretty much everything to get people to attend games this season...
NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma announced today it will welcome home and celebrate Sooner Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford during "Cheer Like a Champion Night" on Wednesday, Feb. 9, when the OU men's basketball team hosts Big 12 rival Texas at 8 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.

I don't see how Sam coming to a game is a ploy to get fans in the seats... Its not like he'll be dressed as Darth Vader or anything.

He's visited Norman a few times since he was drafted... Maybe he just wanted to come home and see his friends/family for a weekend?

Maybe he just wanted to see some good fundamental basketball. :ez-laugh:

This...

The first 5,000 fans through the doors will also receive a commemorative Sam Bradford poster. Throughout the game, randomly selected fans will win autographed Bradford merchandise and posters. Bradford will be recognized at center court during halftime for a look back at his playing days while at OU.

What is it then? I'm willing to bet we'll draw the biggest crowd of the season that night.

It's definitely to fill seats. Otherwise it wouldn't be in the news until after the game. If it's being announced, it's for a reason.

It's definitely to fill seats, and it will most certainly do it. Whatever it takes, IMO.

Playing Texas + Sam Bradford autograph = Big crowd for anything.

OU fans are simple creatures.

Probably could have worded it better, but what I was meaning to say was that Sam comes to Norman whenever he can regardless. So it wouldn't shock me if he was coming even if OU hadn't of used this to its advantage. Smart of OU to reap the benefits though.

And props for the sig, too. I laugh every time I read it.

I hear next week they are renaming it "Lloyd Bradford Center" in order to boost attendance.

The fact that Soonersports announced it before hand is the first tip off for me. Also it wouldn't surprise me to see that Gerald McCoy also attends and it is announced as well.
