Tayshawn Thomas news

Thomas just fired off these tweets (in order). Could be something. Or not.

@taethomas35: Even with the bad start of my day, today will be a good day

@taethomas35: My lady coming to see me 😏😏

@taethomas35: Just waiting on my opportunity

:facepalm just basing it on the tone does not sound promising...

I don't think you can read much into those tweets with respect to the NCAA decision. The bad start to his day could mean anything, like a tough test or being late for class. Just waiting for my opportunity suggests to me he still doesn't know anything.

Live practice on Fox SW says still waiting on NCAA decision. So, disregard that.

I'm frustrated. I can only imagine how Thomas and the team feel.

I log on everyday hoping to see "Thomas cleared!!!!!!!!!!"

This wait is ridiculous.

Game week and no resolution yet. :facepalm

Seriously just say yes or no and let's get down the road....

anyone who knows how the process works or who has talked to the coaches, any chance the ncaa is punting on the issue hoping we decide to withdrawal the request and just red shirt Thomas?

No chance. The coaches won't blink first on this request. The NCAA will have to rule one way or the other.

What would be the point of that, even if the NCAA didn't want him to play? It's not as if they would have to decide to redshirt him at a certain point. If he hasn't played, they can just redshirt him when the NCAA rules

From what I have gathered these approvals by the NCAA usually go thru if the school the player is leaving doesn't object/fight the waiver and it usually happens in October for basketball players....if the school fights it they are rarely approved with a few exceptions. I think it looks like the NCAA denied it, but OU has filed an appeal with more info to support the immediate elegibility, Which will most likely still be denied because of Houston's opposition.

I do think it's easier to get approvals for basketball than football so that could be a glimmer of hope

If Kelvin fought it, I hope they lose every game.

You better start cheering against the Cougars.

I believe we have just turned in the last piece of information the NCAA asked for this Monday. It should be time for a ruling in the near future.

You're saying Kelvin fought this? That surprises me if true. My understanding is he has no hard feelings about his time here. That's from sources as good as they get.

How he feels about ou is not the issue, as I understand it. He wasn't happy with the way Thomas went about his transfer.

He and Houston are fighting against the waiver for immediate eligibility. I know this for a fact.

He doesn't give a damn about helping ou out, though. He will be competing with ou for players in the Houston/Texas region, so he isn't going to be a fan of our program.
