It was the first step in making a "safe hire," not necessarily a better one. BCG was not my first choice. But there is no denying that he can flat out coach.

I'll go as far as to say that there might not be a realistic option for OU that will keep us above TT over the next 5-7 years.

I certainly hope it doesn't play out that way, but I think pretty darn highly of BCG.

it's called recognizing which coach could actually be a realistic candidate not only to take the job but get us relevant again and quickly.

Who are we supposed to pine about ? Chris Mack ? Brad Stevens ? Those guys aren't coming here and even if they are there are no guarantees of how they'd fit at OU.

I'm not obsessed about Gillispise, I'm obsessed about getting a coach to get us out of the cesspool we're in now. No I don't have faith that Joe C/Boren is going to make a home run hire and open up the checkbook. No I don't think Buzz Williams or Josh Pastner is coming here. No I don't want another mid major coach without a proven track record. So yeah you can call me "obsessed" with Gillispie.
