This is Cool!!!

Uh, completely different. The star wars thing was a stupid one day gimmicky thing. Top daug was brought in as a mascot to bring up the morale of the team by Billy Tubbs. When he arrived OU was seen as an underdog in most games, and billy wanted that to change so they came up with Top Daug. Who was a great mascot for years and years and years and loved by the fans. Star wars day was lame!

Star Wars day was lame I agree

Instead of a fooball/men's basketball doubleheader, I'd like to see a women's/men's basketball doubleheader. Let's face it, more people come to watch the women...let's take advantage of that fact and hopefully convert some of those fans into men's bb fans

Coach Kruger I am very excited to have you as our coach. I wish you the best and I know that you’re going to really enjoy Norman. So here are a few suggestions:

1) Play some of the non-marquee games on-campus to create a better environment.
2) Bring the students closer to the floor when you play in Lloyd Noble and in the center to create a better environment.
3) Please make sure that the tv cameras are facing the student section. This will look better to the tv audience and potential recruits.
4) I no longer live in Oklahoma so it would be awesome if I could see video clips of your fall practices before the games begin. Soonersports.com provides daily pictures and video clips of the football team, but gives us very little basketball coverage.

Good Luck Coach.

About to email about bringing back Top Daug, getting rid of the wall that separates the student section (although I hear this may not be allowed due to building codes), and at least making a couple of non-con games free for students next year. Couldn't hurt.

I like what coach is doing but...

Why do people keep saying bring students closer to floor? Does anyone remember the EmptyZone, I mean the CrimZone? There wasn't overflow of students sitting in the floor seats this year. The seats on the floor were just as empty as the seats above them. Is it not true that the students who attended a certain amount of games got reimbursed for their tickets? Hell, they drew a student's name at each game for a cash give away and they continually rolled the winnings over b/c the student drawn was never there to claim the winnings. With winning basketball more fans will be drawn in, with or without the students.

Interesting. I think the two top suggestions would be the outside tents and more of a tailgating experience along with the non conference games at McCasland. Make the OU bball games an event. When I went to the NCAA regional in Tulsa this year, they had the beer tents set up right outside the arena with TV's so you could watch other bball games. I guarantee this would bring more fans. What's the deal with Top Daug? I loved Top Daug but is he really that big of a deal?? I'm more concerned with cold beer and good hoops vs. a mascot. I do like the women's/men's doubleheader idea.

Welcome to the Sooner Nation. *Please consider the following.

Students closer to the floor*

Use it or lose it ticket policy - every year donors buy lower level seats and don't show for the games. *If they don't meet a certain attendance criteria move them to the upper bowl.

A better policy on no shows. *When people no show in the lower level, it looks awful and is depressing for the team. *At the 10 minute mark allow people from the upper bowl to come on down and fill the gaps.

As much involvement with the area schools with free admission including shuttles to breed Sooner fans in the area.

Bring Top Daug Back!

Requested a wrestling match with Sherri Coale. All for charity, of course.

If this is serious, I find it bizarre. It's a mascot. A dog mascot.

If the Sooner Schooner had been replaced in 2005 just like Top Daug was, wouldn't people still be upset?

It's not 8 feet high so don't even worry about it. It might as well not even be there. :D

I must have hit a nerve when I proved you had never been inside the LNC.
:woot

I've been in the LNC more times than you can imagine. But it's cool. Living 8 hours away, or however far KC is from Norman, old people's minds go quick. :clap

Sooner Schooner>>>>>>>> Top Daug. Not even close. So, yes people would be upset. What's your point. Apples to Oranges

I don't really get the TOP DAUG love affair either. I also think that is a really cheesy name for a student fan group...sorry flame away.

Walking in the doors at the top doesn't count.

What's the fascination with 8? 8 feet, 8 hours, etc. Both are very inaccurate.

8 foot wall...Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha! That is good! What a clown.

Its a matter of tradition being thrown away for no reason.
