For football, yes.

For basketball, top daug is the mascot of choice. However, I understand what Joe was trying to accomplish when he did away with top daug. I don't agree with it, but I understand it.

Dude, the court is BELOW the seats. There's the pit where the "top dawgs" and the band sit on chairs that are on raised bleacher things, and a wall behind them. It's not that hard of a concept. Just look at the picture at the top of the page that says ouhoops.com you silly old man. Far basket FYI, I know it's been a long time since you've seen a game at the LNC. :ez-laugh:

Sitting behind it in the stands, it is only 3 feet. I know this, I have stood by this wall many a times over the past few years. It is about waist high to me standing on the top roll of the risers they bring in for the students on the floor.

If it's 8 feet high from the floor, then they must have lowered the floor of the LNC when they remodeled, because when I was in school the security guard stood at the corner by the gate on the court side of the wall and the wall was at his waist or navel.

Jimmy V came over and shook the students hand in 87 and he must have been 8 feet tall because he was standing eye-to-eye with us.

haha. Im 30. Maybe Im just anti mascot, I like the horse pigs more and more each year, but not like the Top Daug lovers on here. This is a fun conversation btw. Life is good when u are arguing about mascots on a message board. Its obviously the off season!

What are student tickets like now $5 bucks? I paid more than that nearly four decades ago.

I mean gimmminneee christmas how much more can they beg the lame-ass college students to come to the games. Should we charter vans to pick them up at home and give them a beer on the drive over too?

They don't give a crap about anything by-in-large.

Now donors buying tickets and not showing up --- I'd kick their asses to the top section and let everyone sit where they want to sit. Deny them the points if they don't come to the games. The people who buy tickets and don't show up hack me off.

I am renewing my men's season tickets for the first time in two years. I just couldn't take it anymore so I stopped going. It was like watching John Blake's last year all over again. So I'm going to be there next year kicking ass with kruger.

let me put this to rest. yes, top daug is a huge deal, can't wait until i scan my picture so i can show all you doubters the level of euphoria a 5 year old had when i got my picture taken with him. sorry to be this way and don't take it persoanl, but if you don't get the fuss about top daug, then you aren't a die hard who has been following the team since the 80s.

second, the wall is probably around 8 feet on the north and south ends. i know, because i sit right behind it in LS3. they may look shorter now with the media and students being elevated. but they aren't 3-4 feet. the walls that use to be on the east and west side were 3-4 feet, but they have done away with those in the renovation effort to bring fans closer.
