USA Today Poll Sooners #9

I'm talking about this upcoming year. He would start for iowa state, duke arizona, ucla, and maryland. He'd also probably start for Kansas. So UNC & Gonzaga I'll give you.

I am too. He would not start for any of them.

And to clarify.
Iowa State - He wouldn't start over McKay and Niang
Duke - Not starting over Jefferson and Jeter
Kansas - Not starting over Ellis and Diallo
Maryland - Not Starting over Carter and Stone
Baylor - Not starting over Gathers and he may start over Motley. If Prince starts at the 4 and Gathers at the 5 then he wouldn't start.
Arizona - Not starting over Tarczewski. They may start him at the 4 but they may also start Simon at the 4. Don't know the answer to that. I'll give you that one.
UCLA - Not starting over Parker. Him and Welsh can battle for who starts at the 4.
Memphis - wouldn't start over Nichols and Goodwin.
Iowa - is up in the air as well with Uthoff and Woodbury on the roster.

I'm not saying he is a terrible player. But it says a lot when Calipari brags about his 5 on and 5 off rotation and Lee's minutes gets cut to around 6 minutes a game.

This is laughable. Some of the players you have over him are baffling. Do you not see his impact on the game or why he didn't play much? He's behind top 10 picks. When he gets significant minutes in big games he always shows out.

What a terrible post. Do you even watch basketball?? Anyone who honestly believes this is.....:facepalm

lol. You need to look up his game stats and tell me which game he had significant minutes and where he impacted the game and tell me where they needed him. It's easy to look good when surrounded by nba players.

Every big game they had, he barely touched the floor

Why didn't you respond to my post when I said...

Marcus Lee is VERY, VERY good.

But realistically, he has been at Kentucky for 2 seasons and played behind:

Julius Randle
Karl Towns
Willie Cauley-Stein
Trey Lyles
Dakari Johnon

4 of those players are lottery picks, and Dakari Johnson is a late first round pick.

Just because Lee didn't get many minutes is in no way an indicator of talent, but rather having 5 first-round NBA picks in front of him.

Blake Griffin is about the only big man Oklahoma has had the last 10 years who would be in the rotation AT ALL with that talent.

Osby, M'Baye, Spangler, Thomas, Taylor Griffin, etc. etc.

None of those guys would be in the lineup either.

Soooo are all of those guys terrible too???

Marcus Lee would 100% start here at Oklahoma next season at the PF spot if he were here, yet you're saying he's terrible.

Makes no sense.

Elite 8 game his freshman year earned him all midwest regional all tournament team. He got 10-15 minutes this year against Kansas, UNC, UCLA, Louisville, Alabama, and WVU. You'll probably point to his points and lack of games where he got minutes but when you play behind 3 top 10 picks the past 2 years it's hard to blame him. He can dominate every game with his rebounding and rim protection. Look at the player not the stats and explain how the people you listed are better than him?

You say it's easy to look good when surrounded by nba players? It's also hard to get minutes and touches.

Osby would play

And yes he would start here. We don't have very good big men.

I'm not calling him terrible. But he hasn't done anything yet to say he's that good. Kentucky will struggle next season.

Well every national analyst and expert seems to disagree with you, so that says something.

And no, Osby would not play in that rotation.

Who would he steal minutes from? Towns? Cauley-Stein? Julius Randle?

Fresh from NBC Sports...

Marcus Lee, Kentucky: Will Marcus Lee finally get his chance this season? The former top 30 recruit has proven to be effective in the limited minutes that he has played the last two season, but his minutes have been understandably limited during his time in Lexington. He may not be Willie Cauley-Stein or Karl Towns, but Lee should be an excellent sidekick to Skal Labissiere in Kentucky’s front court.

You say that "AT ALL" and that kind of bothers me. Blake would've been the man at Kentucky his sophomore season. Look what Warren did w/o Blake. Blake carried us into the Elite 8--he would've been the best player by far on that Kentucky team.

Yep. I love those UK bigs but Blake wouldn't have come of the floor much.

Oh no doubt, I meant "at all" as in he would've been the only one!

The only Kentucky players who are up there with Blake (as far as college careers go) are John Wall and Anthony Davis.

Brandon Knight, Karl Towns, Julius Randle, etc. are close, but not quite on that level.

Cauley-Stein.
And Osby would have been a better 3 than lyles.

No he wouldn't.

Kentucky will be really good next year, definitely top 10. Maybe compared to this year, that's "struggling" but you seem to be saying that they'll be an NIT team next year. That's beyond bizarre. They'll win the SEC again and be a top 3 NCAA seed.

Your contempt for Kentucky seems to be coloring your assessment of their team. It's OK to recognize that a team you hate will still be good.

I don't hate Kentucky. And I didn't say they were going in the NIT. Top 10 they will not be
