WV beats Baylor

Chery hit the game winning three but it was after the clock expired

Baylor sure is good at hitting key shots after the clock expires.

They are also in deep trouble in making the tourney now.

That game probably turns out to be an NIT preview.

Scott Drew is the only person keeping Travis Ford from being the worst coach in the league

The wheels have really fallen off for Baylor. I'm a bit worried about playing them when they'll be so desperate. They need to find wins and they need to find them now or they'll miss post-season play altogether. For our sake, I'm hoping they've already given up on the season since they might be desperate.

Don't sweat it MN.....they are done at 1-7 in conference. And they still have to play @osu, @OU, @ksu, @UT, and KU at home. I don't see them winning 3 out of the aforementioned 5 games.....and then running the table in the rest of their games. By doing that, it would only get them to 9-9 in the conference. It's more likely that Baylor ends up in the 4-14 range.....unbelievable.

Good point. They are likely going to be 1-9 when they come to Norman. They'll either be really down on themselves or desperate to prove they aren't as bad as their record.

The best thing is that Baylor beat some solid teams in non-conference play. When one of the worst teams in your conference beats solid teams that really says a lot about your conference.

Baylor played Syracuse to a 7 point game on a neutral court. (The schedules show it as a Baylor home game but it was in Maui. Syracuse doesn't actually play road games often in non-conference play. Very few teams are staying within 7 of Syracuse.

There are a lot of really good coaches in this league. And then the are Travis Ford and Scott Drew.

Although in fairness to Drew, at least he's won some tournament games. Think Ford is the very clear-cut last place coach in the league.

In fact, Ford is the only coach not to have made a sweet 16. Hoiberg and Johnson haven't made an elite 8. Drew hasn't made a final four.

The remaining 6 have all made a final four at least once. That is insane.

3 of them made the elite 8 at Illinois: Kruger, Self, and Weber.

trent johnson is the worst coach in the league .... he left stanford before he would have gotten fired ... then he left lsu before he was going to get fired ...

now he is at tcu ... maybe he will leave tcu and go to la tech (or somewhere else worse) before he gets fired ... lsu and stanford fans were both happy he left

Don't know how good or bad he is, but the has no talent for sure. Baylor has probably as much talent as anyone not wearing Blue and Red with Kansas on the front of their jerseys but they are not even looking like anywhere near a tournament team right now. If TCU wins much more than 15 games that's a decent year for them.

Kruger did not make the a Elite 8 at Illinois. Self made it his first year with most of Kruger's guys, which was going to be Kruger's best roster.

I actually like that about Kruger. He leaves things much better than he finds them. He funded a practice facility at UNLV, but left before it was finished and left what would have been his best roster of talent.

I want him to be here a long time, but when he decides to retire, the program will be in terrific shape.

When people talk about coaching, they sometimes mean just Xs and Os. While I agree that Drew doesn't maximize his talent, he got to the elite 8 at Baylor. Baylor!.

Yeah I've always felt people were too harsh on Drew, but man he is really earning the criticism this year.

Still, he has been to two elite 8s and won an NIT at Baylor. That makes Travis Ford an extremely clear cut worst coach in the Big XII.

Also you have to conisder what he started with. He took over a program that had just received the closest thign to the death penalty that a basketball program has ever received, as far as I'm aware.

The more I think about it, he is a damn good coach.
