It can only be that our non-stars are much better than any other power conference.

Can't think of any other possibility.

SC has some good players, none of which are a match for Stewart, Jefferson, Loyd, or even Plum. Some love Mitchell. I think the player that may make them into a real contender is Wilson. She may be good when she grows up.

We saw what Stewart can do. We have seen it for two prior years at tournament time. She can do what others dream of.

Other then Ka-Deidre Simmons and Blake Dietrick, most of the players listed are WNBA prospects... We've talked about it in the past, but we are going to need more kids who could at lest get drafted, if we are going to win the big one.

No doubt about it! Cox plus one more elite player could make us a viable contender.

Edit: I guess I should add plus other really good players before someone mentions we can't win with just 2 players. :)

Here is the breakdown:

ACC - 6 listed
Pac-12 - 5 listed
SEC - 5 listed
Am. Ath Conf. - 4 listed
Big-10 - 4 listed
Big East - 2 listed
Atl. 10 - 1 listed
CAA - 1 listed
Ivy League - 1 listed
Big-12 - 1 listed

Since Nina Davis is the only Big-12 athlete listed, it would appear she is mainly playing against empty shirts every night, so by all rights if she is any good she should have broken Wilt's 100 point record several times by now.

Obviously thet last comment is in jest, but I believe we have a few players who would be successful in other leagues.

Clearly the rest of the country does not believe the Big-12 has many above average players or teams. I hope we are able to prove them wrong - but only time will tell.

In the case of OU it is a bit hard to claim much representation on this list since we seem to need a different player to step up each time - and never quite know who that will be. No consistently outstanding player(s).

As one of the NCAA's top 20, we at least have a reasonable chance.
