Cousins was a 2 star & was murdered on here his freshman year.

He’s a local kid, not a foreigner or Juco. You can see him up close before guessing. He’s not TY but he could be a good Big12 player.

I never even commented on the local kid except to say that he doesn't look like Luka Doncic in that "highlight" video I found, I have no idea how good or bad he's going to be... that was ABD.

None of you guys liked Manek either when he committed. He will never play at OU. Not good enough. Not strong enough. Can’t play at OU coming from Harrah.

And a lot of people talked about how great Freeman was going to be... of course it's an inexact science but we can look back and see how the classes overall turned out.

I’ve seen him play multiple times, he’s the best playmaker in the state at 6’2, good athleticism, vision, & can shoot. 3rd best player in state behind Thompson & Alexander imo.

That doesn't mean he is somebody OU should be recruiting. It's Oklahoma, the talent coming out of this state, compared to others, is spotty, at best.

I'm saying I hear almost every year. "We've got a great class coming in! We are going to also sign these other guys who are going to be really good!" And it almost always ends up being Freeman and Polla et. al. And I don't remember the last time we really did have a great class. Maybe Hield and Cousins?

Serious question. Were you one of the fans who thought OU wasted a scholarship on Cousins his freshman season? Not saying you were, just pointing out that no one felt that way about Isaiah two years later.

I’m not in the prediction business anymore. I was among those who thought this year’s recruiting class would be really good, and I still might be right. But, I’ll admit that my high expectations were a little too high and premature at best.

Hey, he's 6'1" , maybe 6'2" and athletic. PG with a year left of high school. 3 star recruit.

That leaves almost two years for him to develop before he ever hits the floor at OU. This is who we've been getting ever since Lon got here.

I say we should give him a chance.

I like Cortes a lot more than Phipps. I think Cortes is athletic and tough enough to defend in the the Big 12. Phipps I'm not so sure.
Still need to get the Alexanders/Obasekis of the world or we're not getting out of the conference cellar any time soon.

I had no opinion on Cousins that I recall... I don't remember ever saying we wasted a scholarship on him. I was pretty hopeful about everyone OU recruited back then.

I have seen him play twice and would love to have him on the team. My biggest worry is that he will change his commitment when the blue bloods come calling and I think they will. Suggest everyone watch him play before forming an opinion
