Not that it matters much but Villanova also wasn’t close to making the tournament until this year and even then they don’t have a shot after losing to a terrible Georgetown team.Apparently Villanova can’t afford to miss the tournament 3 years in a row. Kind of the opposite of us.
Villanova is a significantly better program than OU is. Quit being dense. They beat OU by 100 in the Final Four. Lol. 2 titles to none in the last 20 years (eternity for OU, since they have none in total). He followed Jay Wright, an elite HOF coach. Never want to follow the legend.Apparently Villanova can’t afford to miss the tournament 3 years in a row. Kind of the opposite of us.
Nova is in a pretty good area for recruiting basketball. Not just Philly but Washington DC and New York are all within a fairly short area to recruit to. After we beat them in 1988 they didn't get to the Sweet 16 till 2005.Villanova is a significantly better program than OU is. Quit being dense. They beat OU by 100 in the Final Four. We beat that same Villanova team earlier that season. They just had one of those games in the final 4 where they wouldn’t miss anything vs OU. They would have killed anyone that night.Villanova is a significantly better program than OU is. Quit being dense. They beat OU by 100 in the Final Four. Neptune was a long time Wright assistant so Nova is entering the second phase of "following the Legend"......the back to the past, inside the Legend's family hire got a chance for continuity/recruiting and like most of the time it didn't work but kept fans, the institution "happy", fundraisers milking the tie to the old days.Never want to follow the legend
We beat them as badly as they beat us, probably played into it .. as well as our guys wanting another shot at KU .. not someone they had drummed out of the gym.We beat that same Villanova team earlier that season.
