fared terribly. #9 Kansas State lost by 30 to #8 Michigan. Texas lost to #10 Indiana. Iowa State lost at home to #11 Missouri State. Pac12 has 5 teams in Sweet Sixteen. Baylor will have to carry the torch for our conference. At least, we have 1 team to cheer for.

Just goes to show the big 12 isn’t very strong, the middle of the pack teams normally beat up on each other building wins, but can’t beat other good teams...

Looking just like on men side..the Big 12 very avg come March. Baylor looked last night that no one will beat them, but we shall see.

Baylor has Mississippi State on its side of the bracket and with Schaefer's defense you will see a different Baylor team when they meet. Also MSU's 5 is a 6'7" All American McCowan that can more than offset Baylor's 6'7" All American Brown.

What might be the big difference when and if Baylor and MSU meet is Baylor's 6'4" Lauren Cox as she has size, length and experience on MSU's 6'1" Chloe Bibby but Bibby is more effective from the perimeter. Should make for an interesting game as MSU has been to the Championship game the last 2 years losing to South Carolina and Notre Dame.

Bibby is out for the season, since injuring her left knee in January.

Won’t say I’m shocked at Big 12 performance, but it is disheartening in that it is no longer THE conference in WBB.

Except for Baylor, very mediocre IMO.

PAC 12 seems to have all the growing “juice” of several good teams. Oregon State is pretty darn good - a lot better than 11 Big 12 teams. Gonzaga would have likely beaten every team in our conference except Baylor.

MHO is, except for Mulkey and Iowa St. coach, there isn’t a decent coach in our league.

It is not Baylor and the 9 dwarfs yet like it was OU and the 7 dwarfs in Big 8 football back in the day, but it is getting close. Regarding Oregon State, highly prized Kansas schoolgirl has signed her LOI with them and will be there next year. That would be Kennedy Brown, 6-6 out of Derby.

That will be a very good game. It should be the National championship IMO. Very interesting to see Baylor matched up against State as well as Notre Dame. Notre Dame's got the same size but their Bigs are just a smidge smaller, but more athletic. Those three teams are my top three from what I've seen so far. Not as impressed with Oregon or Connecticut at this point..

I watched a ton of the Pac 12 games this year as I really enjoyed watching Oregon, Oregon State and Stanford. Oregon has a lot of talent and Oregon State and Stanford are extremely well coached. I suspect that Utah, Arizona and USC were probably better than some of the at large teams that made it.

I don't expect any of them to win it. I believe it will be between Notre Dame and Baylor with Mississippi State a possibility. Then you can never count out Geno but Samuelson has been a non-factor in all of their losses this season.

With a couple of exceptions the sweet 16 is about what was expected. There are some really fun players to watch.

Megan Gustafson of Iowa, a 6-3 center is special. And of course Durr of Louisville, Alana Smith of Stanford and UCLA has 3 really good players. Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon got her 8th triple double of this season Sunday (18th career) and is the heart of that team. They have 6-3 sophomore wing Satou Sabally who is a very good outside shot and has legit guard speed. NC State has a good freshman center (Cunane). Carter of A&M is unstoppable at times. Along with McCowan, Howard a 5-11 transfer from A&M has been a big factor in their success this year and is finishing the season strong.

I think Oregon lacks the inside game to compete with Baylor and Notre Dame. Turner of Notre Dame has finally lived up to her rep and she and Shepard, transfer from Nebraska may offset Kelani Brown and Cox. Kim has really developed her bench this year and that may make a difference. A scary thought is that she has 5 freshmen all of whom may be better than any OU freshman this year.

On paper, I think Baylor has to be favored. Not only do they have Brown and Cox, they can bring more big ones off the bench. The one thing of which I am not certain is their guards. They were able to destroy the Big Twelve, but a large part of that was the concentration that you had to put on Brown and Cox. If Baylor is beaten, I think it would be because they don't have the overall outside strength, and guards often make a difference in the NCAAs.

I, too, think it is all about Mississippi State and Notre Dame. I think they are quicker than Baylor, and that might even make them equal on the boards. I like their guards better. I haven't seen that much of Stanford or Oregon State. BYU put Stanford down pretty well in the early going when neither team was impressive. You just can't count out Geno. He seems to win a lot of close ones because his players know what to do.

While I suspect that Baylor has the prospects, I suspect that the better three coaches are at Mississippi State, Notre Dame, and Connecticut. Who does better in a two-game run?

I actually agree with all of this. It would be so much fun to see them play. I actually want the seeds to win out so I can see this! I haven't seen State play enough to see how good their guards are, but we know Howard and McCowan are great and it would be so much fun to see her against Brown from Baylor square off! Only time will tell, but I hope SC can bring in some productive height from the Juco ranks to help us out this next season.

Who does everyone have to win this whole thing? I'm torn....I don't think UCONN will, maybe if they had A. Stevens this year...I would put my money on Baylor or Notre Dame again!

I saw that game. ND played AWFUL. I'm not saying UConn can't beat them, but if both played their bests i'd go with ND. If Baylor played their best, can ANYONE beat them???

Their freshman class is scary good, so will they dominate next year and the years after? I know they lose Brown and Jackson next year, but a lot of their scoring will come back, and i'm telling you A. DeCosta is a star in the making!

Baylor has some freshmen who are good. But, they are good within what they have now. The one who stands above the rest that could star in any system is Egbo.

I really like ND & McGraw to repeat. Bench could an issue if foul trouble occurs, but the starting five of Ogunbowale, Mabrey, Young, Shepard & Turner is wonderful.

The Big 12 obviously flopped pretty bad this year in terms of post season play.

Regarding national championship possibilities, it seems like about 6 teams have a legitimate shot right now

Baylor
Connecticut
Louisville
Mississippi State
Notre Dame
Oregon

It would be very surprising to see any team win the national title this year which is outside of this group.

I agree completely!

I'd love for Stanford to come out of nowhere and win. Doubtful, but we will see. They did beat Baylor, so we know they have it in them!!
