20-2

The Kansas State Wildcats’ decision to hire Bruce Weber nearly two years ago is looking better and better each week.

Since his arrival in Manhattan, Weber has gone 20-2 against Big 12 opponents other than Kansas. Yes, he’s 0-4 against the Jayhawks—but he should be. The talent differential between the two teams is significant.

Instead of whining about his inability to beat an in-state rival, Kansas State fans should relish all of the other wins that most coaches wouldn’t be able to achieve with limited talent in a conference as tough as the Big 12.

He's done a good job. Credit where Credit is due.

Agree he has done well there. Will be interesting to see how they fare going forward. If they are able to win tough road games then he will definitely quiet the critics because he does not have last year's talent.

Weber has always been an outstanding bench coach. I'm not sure that was ever in question. I think the concern with KSU fans (and it's a legit concern) is if he will be able to land the RECRUITS he pursues. He took Illinois to the National Championship game with Bill Self's players...and once those players were gone, so were the deep tournament runs. In the end, if he can recruit anywhere close to the level that Frank Martin did, KSU will be in the top half of the league for years to come.

the decision looked terribawful earlier this year when they were losing to charlotte and whoever else

This. The knock on Weber has never been Xs and Os or gameday management. He has done very well with other coaches players, but when resigned to rely on his own recruits...that is when you see his teams to begin to incrementally slip year after year. But I will give him credit for having this team playing as well as they are after losing McGruder and Rodriguez.
