@john_shinn: OU coach Lon Kruger said Dante Buford will get his first start at the 4 spot Wednesday against Oral Roberts. #Sooners

He's one of the more athletic players we have who doesn't hide in a shell (not Mr. Timid).

I have no issue with that. When he signed I was very excited. He is still a young player at OU, and can still fulfill his promise. I would tell him to concentrate on rebounding, and don't feel obligated to jack every three you see. Hope he does great...

Good for Dante! I have been high on him since he signed with OU three years ago. This team needs his experience.

Anything to help. This team has not improved since the beginning of the season, so change may be good!

Good for him, I think Lon just getting the team ready for the long run. Some of these guys most likely not see the floor much rest of the year.

I also think Lon was sending a message with Dante. We all know he can play ... but Lon also doesn't deal with BS. I'm sure Dante will be motivated to kick some butt.

WHat BS? Has he done something besides the ticket thing?

Dante would've been in the starting lineup much sooner, but he's been battling a groin injury throughout most of the preseason. I imagine conditioning has been a struggle up until recently.

Great news. Think this team may start taking shape. I like this starting 5, with Doolittle, strong-Moore and mcgusty being the main reserves. Mcneace, freeman and shepherd only play as needed.

Hopefully his defense/rebounding has made big strides since last year.

I really like McGusty and Doolittle...even Smart has done some nice things.

Pretty good line-up

J Woodard
Lattin
James
Buford
Odomes/Doolittle/McGusty

First off bench (no order)
Strong
McGusty
Doolittle
McNeace

Freeman
Shepard

I got the idea from Gary that Doolittle had been outplaying Buford most of the pre-season practices. Even before the groin pull. There is still a lot of tinkering with the rotations to be done.

McNeace plays only as needed??? You want Lattin to play 40 minutes a game? :ez-roll:

What does "as needed" mean to you? Sure he's gonna play some, but all I was saying is not significant minutes. We could always go small, depending on the matchups. It's not like I'm saying he should be sitting by CJ Cole all season.

McNeace will probably end up playing more than he should for the simple fact that Lattin has been prone to foul trouble.
