Out of all of the Big 12 games only 6 games have not been picked up by ESPN Networks.

They are:

OU at Texas on the LHN
TCU at Texas on the LHN
West Virginia at Texas on the LHN
Texas Tech at Texas on the LHN
Texas Tech at TCU
TCU at West Virginia

Baylor, KU, KSU, ISU, and OSU had all games picked up by ESPN.
OU had 17 out of 18 picked up by ESPN but one primary game - Texas.
Texas Tech had 16 of 18 picked up.
West Virginia had 16 of 18 picked up.
TCU had 15 of 18 picked up.

Out of 99 games only 6 games were not picked up by ESPN and 4 of those were Texas home games for the LHN.

It's very irritating. Any potential collusion exposure?

There is no reason why ESPN can't televise all games. If they can televise 156 then they can televise 162.

Texas is liable to finish in the bottom three this year (in the Big 12). I know it's a rivalry game (of sorts), but to call it a "primary game?" I dunno.

Like it or not, Texas is still a big draw in the Big 12. ESPN is playing games with their LHN investment and Big 12 is allowing it.

I see nothing wrong with this.

Would you if we had games on the Soonersports network?

The fact that the game will be aired on the LHN isn't my beef; it's that ESPN is manipulating Texas home games to provide tier 2 content on a tier 3 platform. This manipulation hurts OU because it gives the OU program less exposure.

I noticed U-Verse just upped the LongWhorn Network to a different package over the weekend and now not included in the package we have. They can rest assured I won't pay a nickel to watch that crap even if OU is stuck on there!

No kidding. I just noticed this as I was looking through our schedule and it is irritating. In answering an earlier question, yes, I would also be irritated if it was televised by the soonersports network.

This Longhorn Network is ridiculous. If the Big XII had just done a conference network it would be a whole lot better. The station would appeal to everyone in the conference. There wouldn't be in fighting between the schools/fans. A&M wouldn't have left the conference.

And we wouldn't have SoonerSports network. I could care less about watching Hypocrite U or TCU or Iowa State in any sport unless they are playing OU, regardless of their conference affiliation. I'm much more interested in watching Sooner basketball, men's and women's, baseball, softball, volleyball, etc. much more often than we would see on a conference network. I'd venture to guess that it helps our recruiting in all sports more by showing all these sports basically at a national level for example by having 12-15 baseball games being shown versus 4 or 5 a season.

A&M stumbled onto a freak athlete, albeit flakey, and without him no one would be paying much more attention to them than Ole Miss or Kentucky.

Exactly. Let's check back in with their football team in 2-3 years.

There's no reason for these games to not be broadcast by the University in an online only capacity. It would have been much better for the conference, and as a whole OU, to not let Texas drive off some of the best members.

In fact, for basketball fans, it's gotten much worse, as prior to the "SoonerSports Network" all OU basketball games were broadcast on ESPN3. Now most parts of the country either have to pay more, or don't even have the option to watch those games.

with dish you can pay $9 a month extra to have the sports pack and not miss a game.

I have Directv and get the sports pack with the package I get. Well worth the extra money.

As far as the OU/texass game, Directv does not carry the LHN. Can it be watched online anywhere?

It should be available with WatchESPN.

WarVet: Are you saying that the DirecTV sports package COMES WITH (at no extra charge) the package you subscribe to? If so, that's troubling to me, since I have to pay an additional $12.99 per month to get the sports pack. And I have a fairly inclusive channel package.

Did I misunderstand your post?

I have the top tier package (Premier Package), which comes with all movie channels and the sports pack.

No dice on watching this game online?
