GAME 33 - OKLAHOMA (20-12) vs KENTUCKY (21-10) 8:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

People nit-picking the defensive gameplan on the final play are being a bit ridiculous. It’s not like football in terms of “play design.” They were clearly expecting Oweh to get the ball and they clearly ran two guys at him. Goodine got screened early and didn’t do an awesome job recovering. Elvis sort of just got beat and Moore didn’t have very good timing meeting him at the rim. It was also a very strong drive and finish by Oweh. Porter didn’t “screw up” the final defensive play.

Yes he did screw it up. You make the catch difficult at a minimum.. you can double him too.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he had the flu or something this week. He did not have his normal juice.
I think he needs a week. To either A. Recover from whatever or B. Get his mind right.

but your also saying don't blame moser....your first sentence is ALL ON MOSER. That's our point...

It was 1 play in a sequence of 100+ previous plays in which he coached ou to a lead on the road against a far superior team. He is far from perfect, but give him Brandon Garrison and that Oweh shot is in the stands and ou wins.

How can you even say this? First of all, Goodine should not have been in the game. Second, Moser had 4 guys at halfcourt, why??? That’s just coaching malpractice.

Nit-picking would be looking at it in a micro level but we're talking about a macro-
level. The overall plan was mega dumb

Give him prime Larry bird and magic Johnson and we win 4 titles... I'm talking about who we have now and the terrible plan pm choose last night

We have a 4 year sample size of Moser $hitting the bed in this situation. Also, defending inbounds plays and executing inbounds plays have been a huge problem for him his entire time at OU. It’s not just this one play.

I'll give credit to the kids busting ass for that game, staying in it, getting pressure for the 2 TO's on oweh in the final 2 min...

I'll also give him blame for the idiotic def plan on the last play...it NEVER should have come down to a block at the rim...never.

How about just give him Jadon Jones who was supposed to be on this team and Oweh might have been locked up all night. We have a flawed roster because of the lack of NIL funding (and some critical injuries).

How do you know he would have even had Garrison in the game? There’s no evidence that he’s smart enough to have a rim protector in the game.

I hate ignoring people, but this last 12 hours has made it clear who to ignore here for a better experience.

I'm going to say this. IF Porter Moser decides to go a different direction after this year, some of you are going to get a MASSIVE wake up call as to how low the OU basketball profile is. We will NOT get a better coach. We will take another step back. Until the admin and the fans put in the effort and finances needed to compete, no coach is going to win at the level some of you "expect".

I’ll give you that. He brought in Jones to be a lock down defender type and he’s not available. That makes things tougher

I very much question Moser’s personnel decisions and inbounds plays. He is far from perfect. The hyperbole that he is dumb and terrible coach is just unfathomably..well, dumb.

Sure.. but we have enough to guard a single play at the end of a game and to do it in a way that is most advantageous to us, or said another way, making it as hard as it can be for our opposing team..
