NORMAN – Oklahoma senior Tanner Groves was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week by the conference after aiding the Sooners to two victories against Northwestern State and UTSA last week.

Groves, a transfer from Eastern Washington, led the Sooners in points in both contests, scoring 15 points against the Demons in the season opener, and breaking the 20-point (21 points) threshold against the Roadrunners Friday night.

Great to see him hit the ground running. Hope he can keep it up during our challenging BIG12 schedule.

Looking back on Tanner's season he avg 11.8 per game and was in double figures 20 plus games
BUT he had 8 games where he scores LESS THAN 5 points.
Can't have that with one of your go to players.
You aren't going to get to a higher plateau in basketball with a player you rely on for scoring being asleep offensively in too many games. Especially when he
doesn't make up for on the D side with tight coverage, blocked shots.

If must have been really important to you to rag on a player if you went back to November for this post.
