Couldn't have picked a better weekend to see Sooner spirit at its finest. Norman will be rockin this weekend, and if he becomes a Sooner then he can get it rockin for basketball games just like Blake did during his soph season....

Agreed! Hope he has a great time and there is a great Sooner football win to top it off!

This could be the biggest weekend in recruiting for both basketball and football together that I've seen at OU. If Randle really leans toward OU, then an OU win Saturday night with the electricity involved will only help to reinforce that.

Is there really a chance? It will be great to actually get one of these recruits on campus instead of a few days from visiting and making a commitment elsewhere. I am kinda excited and I really try not to anymore. Oh well, feels good!

There's a decent chance he committs this weekend

If you are effing with us then I will go all Eddie Sutton on the fence outside of your house! (Hint: I'll spell out Boomer Sooner).

You are a very talented fellow.

Nah, Ive been told that OU leads at this point over UK. Dont hold it against me if he chooses elsewhere. Uk just got a committment from a big, Marcus Lee, and will likely get another from Andrew Wiggins when he reclassifies.

BTW, a UK guy told me this info, not a Sooner

I would love to believe that Randle is coming to OU. "Insiders" on other message boards claim we're not in his top 4. While I heard from someone else with knowledge that it's between OU and Texas with UK close behind.

I just don't know what to believe.

OSUfan is trolling. It's nice he's visiting but he's not signing here..........

No. 1 Randle studying his six

Patience will be critical for the fans of the six schools recruiting Julius Randle. Persistence will be critical for the coaches recruiting him. One of his six schools had a coach at his high school this morning.

Randle is a lefty with a lot of game

Kansas assistant coach Norm Roberts visited with Randle at his Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian High School.

With three official visits left after trips to Kentucky and Florida, Randle definitely plans to use on of those visits to watch a Kansas game this year.

North Carolina State is likely to get one of those visits as well for its game against North Carolina. Texas is a possibility for the last visit.

On October 27, Randle will unofficially visit Oklahoma for its football game against Notre Dame.

The big question is whether or not any of these six schools is beginning to separate itself from the field. The answer is both yes and no.

"It switches back and forth all the time," Randle told 247Sports. "One day it is Kentucky. Then it is Florida or Texas. And then Kansas or N.C. State or any of the teams on my list. It switches so much that now I don't even worry about it. I just want to watch the teams play this year."

A student of the game, Randle will be watching his six schools closely this season as he gears up towards a spring decision. The 6-9, 250-pound forward wants to win big and also flourish individually as a freshman.

"I'll be studying these teams closely," he said. "I'm looking for a place where I can win a national championship as a freshman and a place where I will be pushed to be the best player I can be. I want to play for a coach who will let me be me, let me do different things on the court and be a versatile player."

One thing fans don't have to worry about with Randle is their team scaring him off by bringing in other talented players. A recruiting roll like Kentucky is on is more of a positive than negative for Randle.

"Fore sure I want to play with great players," he said. "It makes the game easier for me, and my goal is to win a national championship."

A physically imposing player with a versatile and high skill level, Randle is the No. 1 ranked prospect by 247Sports and is currently ranked No. 2 in the 247Composite.

If OU has a shot at Randle.

But it won't happen until spring.
If OU got into the tourney and the young players plus M'Baye all looked great
then OU might have a shot.

I'd be very very surprised to see him go anywhere but Kentucky (because it just seems like EVERY top recruit wants to go to Kentucky), but if he came to OU and Amath M'Baye came back....:dance005:

I hope you realize that when members here find out you're a troll, any credibility you ever had will be lost forever. That's assuming you actually care if you're a credible source.

My point is, fans from other schools, including OSU, who have been regulars on this board for years and who enjoy coming here to discuss basketball, don't make stuff up to have a good laugh at our expense. If you want to carry on this charade, be my guest. Just don't be surprised by the reception you'll get when it's over.

Julius is not committing this weekend. We're not in his top 3 right now (neither is UK). It's a pick 'em between Donovan, Barnes, and Self. Not saying things can't change in our favor, but HIGHLY doubtful. We have Jeff Webster and proximity in our favor, but those are where are advantages stop. He likes the Big12, and he likes our staff, but he has those likes in other teams as well.

I guarantee you he's NOT committing to us this weekend, or anywhere else prior to the regular signing period. He will sign in the spring. Seems like he's enjoying the process, and wants to make the right choice for him.

Ada, I don't know the OSU guy or his motives or his sources. But, I can tell what I know. This is not just a courtiousy call by this kid. The staff thinks they have a good clean shot at him. I don' know how it will turn out.

That's great news, Gary. Guess I shouldn't rule out the possibility that Julius will pick the Sooners. I will continue to be cautiously optimistic, and what you've said does at least give me hope.

If OSUFan turns out to be right, I'll offer to buy his lunch and apologize in person. I still believe he's a troll who is simply having fun at our expense. Nothing wrong with that, really. I just wanted him to know that there can be consequences for posters who prove they can't be trusted.

Ive told you guys where I got my info, from a UK fan. This UK fan is credible. He told me UK is trailing at this point and that he thinks OU is the favorite RIGHT NOW.

You guys clearly know that things change on a daily basis in recruiting but I thought I'd just pass this info along because this guy has been dead on in the past

He says his #1 goal is to win a national championship. If he means that Kentucky, Kansas & Florida is who he will choose from.
