They stopped one arm of the study that was a higher dose. That's one of things we need to figure out is the lowest effective dose that might help.

They are hundreds of drugs that increase QT interval:

It was already a bad study, how can you have a clinical trial with no control group? Makes no sense.

I'm not touting anybody, somebody sent it to me and I thought it was interesting. And you predictably attacked it, not even possibly having the time to watch any of it.

I don't know what he said or didn't say about email. What scientifically or medically did he say was false? I don't know, that's why i'm asking you, the expert!

Now i'm asking for your medical expertise, to dispel what you will probably say are lies or mistruths I assume?

I guess you don't really have to, as you're usually so busy with work and you probably don't have the time. Just thought you might be able to straighten this loon out.

Off to do my lawn on this beautiful day! Hope it's as nice for everyone else..

Okay I humored you and listened to the video. First of all, I literally facepalmed when this lunatic said that HIV doesn’t cause AIDS. Then he said that the “Deep state” brought out the coronavirus to ruin Trump. I mean you can’t possibly take this seriously can you? Is there something in particular you wanted me to give my opinion on? I didn’t hear any real scientific claims. This was all weird conspiracy theories and crackpot nonsense. It was really really weird.

Watched it. HIV to AIDS take is terrible. He just takes random shots at Fauci, makes random assertions, deep state was weird, and has his written books & award perfectly angled for the camera. I wouldn’t listen to him without facts behind him.

What were the side effects? QT prolongation in and of itself doesn't really mean anything. It may predispose you to Torsades, but simply increasing the QTc is a small price to pay for a drug if it actually works against COVID. Also, nobody I know of is giving anywhere near 1200 daily for 10 days. Most are doing something more along the lines of 800 on day 1 followed by 4 days of 400. Load them up with Mg and K and move on. I've given plaquenil to about 100 patients and haven't seen a single one go into torsades.

I think European doctors are using higher dosage rates than here in the states.

I’m not sure about the details but 11 patients died in the group that was given 600 mg per day.
