March Madness and Covid-19

Nine times out of ten, when somebody 50+ comes in with "No PMH," it's because they haven't seen a doctor in years.

Yep....I was bad about this in my 30s. In the last several years, I have begun going to get a check up every year. Fortunately, I'm in good health and all of my labs come back normal....knock on wood. As a male, we typically don't like going to the doctor, but it's a practice that all of us need to make habitual. You never know what might be lying beneath.

Having said that, I'm on the clock for my for my first colonoscopy....I can't wait!:D

Yep, gotta do it. Obviously getting “handled” by a doctor is no fun but it’s nice to get that report back to show clean and if there is anything to watch.

And according to our resident doc on this board I am a statistical anomaly- over 50, no PMH or underlying conditions and go to the doctor regularly! Lol.

Good luck with the test!

Did you all see the picture of the Las Vegas strip with no lights?

Craziest thing I've ever seen.

The mandatory order allows Californians to continue to visit gas stations, pharmacies, grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, takeout and delivery restaurants, banks and laundromats. People can leave their homes to care for a relative or a friend or seek healthcare services.

lol, other than "just driving around" there is pretty much no other reason anybody COULD leave their house. Everything else is closed, probably including parks and green spaces.

Except maybe going to work every day??? That is part of the shutdown in Cali and NY

new CDC possible projections

The CDC's worst-case-scenario is that up to 210 million Americans will be infected by December. Under this forecast, 21 million people would need hospitalization and 200,000 to 1.7 million could die. Collins said that if the U.S. takes drastic measures "we should certainly be able to blunt" the curve. "But let's be clear: There's going to be a very rough road."

Things like this should put things into perspective yet i have seen numerous articles focused on how green house gas emissions have been lowered because of the pandemic. Can you say self serving!

The people still going to work are the ones most vulnerable. All customer service type jobs. The ones required to stay home, were mostly already working from home. White collar type jobs.

My colleagues and I can’t work from home, we just had the first positive case in the county, not at my facility but it’s just a matter of time.

i can't either ... we have 3 people in the building that have showed some symptoms that are now on home isolation

As this thread has now reached 55 pages, I was just thinking to the orgin of this thread... the NCAA tournament canceled ONLY 8 days ago.

And it was just 14 days ago that SXSW canceled, being the first major event in the US to cancel and the Indian Wells Tennis tournament became the first sporting event to cancel. It was also the same day the first case hit in Oklahoma, with a travel-related case in Tulsa.

How quickly things have changed and our way of life have been altered in such a short amount of time.
