March Madness and Covid-19

I was in favor of it, but we did it half-assed and didn't pair it with other measures, so the ban failed. It's all about execution.

Than I guess literally every other country on the planet failed as well, right?

You seem to think there was some perfect plan Trum could have easily initiated that would have us in a better spot than we are now. A lot of folks disagree with you on that.

The restructured stimulus package is expected to be finished & agreed upon by the end of the day.

The story that I quoted did not speak of a ban in a singular nature but in plurality. Thus bans would have been helpful as opposed to "a ban." I am going with what the article "actually" stated and nothing else.

He could have taken the advice of the experts and the intelligence community that briefed him that this might happen way back in January and taken active measures then, including aggressive screening, quarantine, and a full-court press on getting testing up and going, but he didn't. Why didn't he do that? No idea.

Travel BANS (as in plural) are useless without other measures included.

I agree, I think there is enough political pressure on both sides to dispense with the BS and get it done.

In my spare time, I work with people as a personal finance coach. What we are going through now is going to serve as a not-so-subtle reminder, once we are past this, to get our finances in order.....hopefully. I encourage people to get (and stay out of) debt and save up a fund that would get you through at least 3 months if you lost your job. That way, you and your family can focus solely on your physical health and well being without having to worry about your financial health.....especially in times like this.

The article cited never mentioned this. This is what I am talking about as in what the article stated and not your opinion of the situation at hand. It said it "was political theater and not good public health policy." This was their take. They never mentioned additional measures to be taken when bans would be utilized because they were certain bans would be useless!

Like WHO?

The article never mentioned, but I am mentioning it.

The travel bans failed to protect the United States from Covid-19. This is not in dispute. I'm saying it's possible that they could have worked better if they had been paired with the things I outlined above.

And I completely agree with you, but I used the Vox article to illustrate that they are not the best news source to utilize and nothing else as there was no other motivation. None. I thought it was a simple get.

Like South Korea, who now has booths that look like phone booths, in which you can get tested and have results back in 7 minutes.

I'll take that as a yes. At the 15:00 mark WHO stated that "countries should not restrict travel or trade." Immediately afterwards WHO stated there was no evidence of human to human transmission. Both of their statements were made in January. And you believe they were correct on both accounts. This is the organization back in January that you wanted us to take a lead from? Why? If we did then travel bans should have never been contemplated, whether they were executed properly or not, and we would have thought transmission by humans was not a problem to be concerned about.

Do you have a better source than some guy screaming about a New York Post article? lol

The mention of non-transmission came straight from WHO. But you go deep and deflect the best way you can if it makes you feel better.

The other mention was from the Verge which was created in partnership with Vox (both are left wing). Neither was from the New York Post.

Do you have better BS?

Next.

Do you have a better source or not? I don't ever trust random YouTube videos and you shouldn't either.

The articles reviewed were literal captions of the original works. Just like NY Times, Washington Post etc.

Secondly, the guy you speak of is a democrat who is not beholden to the party line and likes to think for himself ,which I suggest we all be guilty of.
