The exhibition season begins at 7:00. It will be televised on FOX Sports Ok, which is channel 647 on UVerse in Dallas. I understand that it will also be on the subscriber-based SoonerVision.

It may be Midwestern, but I think Nancy Mulkey is for real. Only got three minutes: 3 blocks, a layup, and a rebound. Good feet.

Can't gauge much, but I like Mickey and Dungee tonight.

What I liked most was the ball movement.

110-47. Midwestern led 21-20 after the first quarter.

It was difficult to get a read against Midwestern State. We had fourteen players who could have started for them, probably as their star. In a set offense, I was pleased with Gabbi, Vivi, and Maddie. Gioya, T'Ona, and LaNesia resulted in turnovers, several of which were credited to someone else. They were better in the second half when we began to open it up. In the open court, LaNesia was effective, but not in a set. In the running game, LaNesia also plays defense. Can we run against everyone?

Peyton didn't shoot well, but she did find a way to score 11 and play some good defense.

I thought Ijeoma had a better game than McKenna or Shaya.

Dungee can play. She does believe in getting to the rim, and she does it.

Penzo handles the ball better than any guard not named Gabbi. She made a lot happen on offense and defense. Good court awareness.

Maddie is the best passer we've had since Stacy Dales.

I think we saw improvement from last year at this time. Dunge is going to help. She is an athlete. Some of the vets were playing more athletic. I didn't see the stats. But the turnovers appeared to be lower. I loved it when OU pressed. Fingers crossed.

The first quarter for me was just a nightmare, no hustle, poor shot selection, and lack of any intensity on defense. Vivi could have scored 50 tonight if we would have played a post game more. However the last three quarters was an OU team I was looking for. Chelsi and Nancy took the floor and helped ignite a hair on fire defense, and excellent ball movement with good shot selection. When we started pressing it really turned the game around. I saw a lot of positive play after the first quarter. With time Nancy will be a force. Chelsi is a driving machine, if she slows down just a touch, she is going to get a lot of and ones. Peyton, Maddie, T'ona, Vivi, Derica, and Penzo played really solid basketball. I am feeling pretty good about this team. I think Oklahoma City U. will give the kids a little more things to work on Monday.

Dungee looked really good for a true frosh in her first game. Our pressure D was suffocation sparking a 21-0 run I believe after trailing 21-20. Should be a fun year. Anxious to see how Rich blends into the lineup. Did we have any recruits at the game?

I thought the first quarter was an exhibition of several players trying to hit their shots. We didn't rebound well or pursue the ball. When Vivi and Maddie each hit their first two shots, it seemed that nobody passed the ball to them all night. Individual play.

But, I was not impressed by Gioya, T'Ona, LaNesia, or Treece in a set offense. T'Ona and LaNesia were better when we put on the press, and they operated well in an open court.

I got the feeling that Maddie, Vivi, Gabbi, Peyton, Penzo, Nancy, and Dungee could play in any system that we used.

I did see one girl in the seats where recruits just watching a game sit. TK came up after the game and talked for a few minutes with her and her dad. She was wearing an OU windshirt and appeared to be an OU fan. Not sure who she was, about 5'8" blond hair in a ponytail.

You nailed it. I hope after seeing film, the kids figure out inside /out can work pretty well. Vivi is becoming a beast and we need to feed her often!!!

What was yo with the flagrant 1 that was called on Mulkey? I didn't see the game but read where she threw a player down going for a rebound... it shows that she's not as soft as some might have been saying she was.

I thought it was a strange call.

The MW girl was out of bounds and Nancy had her back to her. The ball was already inbounded, and the girl - instead of going around Nancy - just started shoving her from behind - several times. It appeared Nancy had no idea what was going on - but when she turned around it knocked the MW girl down. It appeared to surprise everyone - even the ref - so he looked at the monitor - and called the flagrant 1. It was obviously unintentional - and probably more the MW girl's fault than Nancy's.

It did show that Nancy is tougher than her slim size suggests. She also is pretty athletic - dribbled pretty well, etc. She obviously understands the game.

And Chelsi Dungee is going to be a player - an excellent player. Very strong, great skill at driving, etc. She got to the line often - and shoots free throws well. We are really lucky to have her on the team. I'm excited about what she brings to the game.

I agree that Chelsea's shot from the line looked very good but she did hit only 6-10 against MW and that number needs to be closer to 8-10 for her to get the true benefit from her ability to penetrate. I feel certain she will shoot closer to the mid-70% range from the line once she settles in.
