Guard Nikki Moody has been suspended indefinitely from the ISU women's basketball team, Iowa State announced Friday in a press release.

Moody, a senior, was expected to take on a leadership role for the young ISU roster that features five freshmen. Coach Bill Fennelly cited a behavioral issue with Moody that led to the suspension.

"Nikki’s attitude in the team setting has become a distraction to our learning environment,” Fennelly said in the release. “We have high behavioral standards to allow us to develop our team in a way that we can have success on and off the court and her behavior has been inconsistent with those values. Nikki can return to team activities if/when improvement is seen."

Moody started 30-of-31 games last season for the Cyclones and averaged nearly 33 minutes per game while leading the team in overall minutes for the season.

Moody was second on the team in scoring, putting up 12.5 points per contest and had a team-high 163 assists for Iowa State in its 2013-14 campaign.

The ISU women's basketball team kicks off its season with an exhibition game against William Penn Nov. 4. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum.

Apparently she hasn't learned how to play well with others.

Surprised. She is pretty good at playing against others.

She'll be back. He's just trying to make a statement with her.
