Morgan Rich?

Can anyone tell me why Morgan Rich isn't playing?

Recovering from injury
Transferring (again)

All that I can figure out. If you can't get in the line-up when Penzo's playing, you aren't going to be get in. At least this year.

She is on the team, she has dressed out for every game since the second semester. If you watch her during warm ups, you will see she is an amazing shooter, as Sherri has mentioned. I think it will be next year before we see her with any significant playing time.

All that I can figure out. If you can't get in the line-up when Penzo's playing, you aren't going to be get in. At least this year.

She has already "redshirted" when she chose to transfer.

For a while I wondered if we thought we could get her an extra redshirt year - as a medical redshirt? But since we play her a couple of minutes from time to time that is not going to happen.

I'm sure, since I'm not at practice or know about her academics/off the court activities, that there is a valid reason she's not playing.

I agree it might not be her time... I had high hopes for Rich but as of right now she's not an contributor... I think it has something to do with her knee.

We are also a very guard-heavy team, and all of the guards who get significant playing time (aside from Dungee) are juniors and seniors. Morgan Rich could likely just be waiting her turn -- a Rashard Odomes situation.

This. Where is she going to get minutes? Penzo comes in at point not the 2 or 3 so that comparison needs to go to the wayside. She is sitting behind three seniors (Little, Carter and Wyatt) and a phenomenal freshman leader in Dungee. From what I've heard,, she can absolutely light it up on the offensive end but she is behind the other 4 defensively and coach places a lot of value on the D. I think you will see a lot more of her in the coming seasons.
