Non OU Big 12 Game Thread

isu now up 8 or 9...wv getting killed.

Would love to see ku drop it...

I'd agree...ksu playing really well right now. It'll be a fun finish.
 
Even in a parallel universe where KSU was as good as KU, it wouldn't matter because KSU can't beat them head to head. And KSU knows that. Unfortunately, I might add.
 
28 straight home Big Monday wins. Even considering the help they sometimes get from the stripes, that's unreal. And ISU got a fair whistle tonight, unfortunately other than Shayok they couldn't make a free throw. Lawson, Shayok, and Culver have definitely separated from the pack as the best players in the league.

KU just wins the close games at such a high rate, it makes all the difference.

I think he is a tier below them. He is a first team all league guy, but not the all-around player those guys are, and not as consistent. Obviously just my opinion, which doesn't mean much since I don't have a vote!

No doubt. And a testament to great basketball instincts and IQ. He is a below average athlete and isn't even a sure bet to play in the NBA, yet dominates against the best college competition.

maybe so...self has done a great job using what he has. Course, what he has is pretty good...lol.

do you find it strange he walks out be himself...after the players and other coaches come out? My buddy and I went to the OU game.

We just thought he had that "I'm the King" attitude...maybe just us. He definitely loved the cheers...
 
He can’t be worse than Roy Williams. Remember when KU finally filled their football stadium to hear the news of great concern (sarcasm) of whether he was leaving or staying? I ask my KU fan friends if it was so unclear to them why KU didn’t have another one when he left. I can only guess Roy no longer wanted any glorification from them.

I know kenpom & others have Kansas St rated lower than other Big 12 teams but for the most part that's due to the fact that Wade missed so much time. Right now they look like the 2nd best team in the conference. They're putting it on Texas Tech and while any team can look good at home (& any team look bad on the road) it's hard to see man-for-man how Tech is better.

OU played badly at home against KSU but, make no mistake, this team is really good.
 
How long has Lawson been in college? I could have sworn he and his brother played against Buddy and the boys when they were with Memphis...

You know, I didn't notice that about Lawson before the game. I actually haven't gone to any games in Lawrence this season other than the OU game, and I guess I was too nervous to catch that lol. But from everything I've heard from Self and the other players, I don't get the sense that he is a selfish guy, they all seemed impressed with how he worked and supported his teammates last season during his redshirt year.

Stik, you are correct, he was a true freshman when Buddy and Isaiah beat them in Memphis in the season opener of our Final Four season. This is his fourth season in college but that includes the redshirt year, so unfortunately we'll have to contend with him one more year.

I think you’re right. Cedric Lawson is a 21 years old junior. He reclassified to the 2015 class so he could come in with his brother K.J. That would put them in Memphis in 2016 when Buddy was a senior. I assume they were on the Memphis roster that season.

The brothers redshirted last year after transferring to KU. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Cedric will be drafted high enough to abandon his senior season.
