BEAT TEXAS!

We really need to win our 3 home games. Should get us in and stop KU’s streak.

I predict one of our road opponents will not have one of their normal games, playing out of character, allowing us to squeeze out a win.

We have to beat texas and wvu. I think we have to win at least 3 more games to be in the conversation for the tourney. We’re still alive after a huge win today. Anything is still possible, good or bad.

3 more OU is a lock. 2 more they are on the edge of the bubble either just in or just out

1 win...
Nothing more nothing less...

The only game I see more + than - is wv.

I hope you are right, but I just don't see us "on the bubble" with a 6-12 conference record. Which opponent qualifies as the signature win? What OU has going for it is playing a quality non-conference schedule mostly on the road or neutral site games. However, I don't believe we have beaten one team who is a lock for the Tourney.

I want to be wrong and often that's the case - but I don't see us getting in with less than 20 wins. We got a gift last year because of Trae, but don't see that happening this year unless we can beat a couple of Big XII teams with a winning record.

This is a fallacy. As has been raised by others, if Trae was the reason we got in last year, why didn't LSU get in with Simmons?

Man it is hard to believe that so many of you can be this wilfullyignorant when it comes to the selection criteria. There are dozens of websites that cover it in detail, yet people continue to mention things like conference record, Trae, last ten games, and all sorts of things that don't factor in. It would be like listing a team's record on Tuesday nights and suggesting it will be a factor. Meanwhile, you completely ignore the single biggest plus on our resume, which is the number of quad 1 and 2 wins, which we added to today. That's a heck of a lot more important than your subjective, and almost certainly wrong, claim that we haven't beaten a tourney team. If the tournament started today, we would likely have at least four wins over the field, and we have five more games to go.

Ben Simmons averaged a solid 19 points a game...and still can’t hit a long jump shot to save his life. He’s a terrific all-around player, but was hardly comparable to Trae Young in college. Last year, everyone kept comparing Trae to the most exciting player to watch this decade in Stephen Curry. An OU bubble team was going Dancing with Trae. I hope we don’t have to find out where a 7-11 Conference record lands OU this year. I believe we have to win 8 games, but I’ll be glad to be wrong.

Wow this is just insane. Ben Simmons was arguably the best college player since KD and was featured every bit as much as Trae. Do you not remember how ESPN hyped our game there with Buddy and Simmons?

7-11 is unprecedented for a Big 12 team to gain entry. I don't care how bad the bubble is....it's never been done! I won't feel good about our tournament chances unless we travel to Kansas City with an 8-10 record. The only way I could even wrap my head around 7-11 is if we win two games in the Big 12 Tourney. Personally, I think it would take an appearance in the Finals to secure entry at 7-11.

And I also think we were helped last year by the Trae Young hype machine. I don't think it was the sole factor to get us in the Dance, but I think it was a BIG help in the Committee room.

Ben Simmons is a not a good comparison because the SEC has been a crap hoops league for a long time. It certainly was in 2016. Only three teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament, with eATMe being the lone representative on the second weekend. I think we all can fondly recall the dump-trucking we laid upon their Aggie asses. And it took a miracle comeback against Northern Iowa for them to get even that far.

What was lsu's record that yr vs OU's last yr?
Just curious
Ou 18/14. 8/10
Lsu 19/14 11/7 ben simmons yr

To add a little more context to how bad the SEC was in 2016: South Carolina did not get in. They went 11-7 in the league, 24-8 overall, and they were sent home. That was a Final Four team the next year, but the league was such a dumpster fire they did not get the benefit of the doubt.

So let's leave the Ben Simmons argument at home. That team wasn't worth a damn anyway. 19-14 with a 71-38 loss to eATMe to close out the SEC Tournament. Big whoop!

You act like factual selection criteria like (what would be) TEN Q1/Q2 wins, NO Q4 games played at all, and a NET that would be in the low to mid 30s, not the mention a resume that would be as good or better than most bubble teams, especially those that would be the last 6-8 teams in the tourney, matter more than mythical selection criteria like conference record and last 10 games. Stop it with the facts, please.

As an aside, we are the ONLY team in the entire country that hasn't played a Q4 opponent. That's remarkable andhas to be a HUGE coup for us. KU is actually the one one that's played two, everyone else is three or way, way more.
