Someone confirm if my thinking is correct:

If Osby leaves for another D-1 school, he will have to sit out another year AND he will lose a year of eligibility, correct? That would leave him with only one year of eligibility.

If this is correct I can't see any circumstance in which he will leave, regardless of who we hire.

Yes, unless he gets a waiver. Which I doubt it.

I believe this to be correct..I would guess his ONLY option would be to petition the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility, but that could take months and is risky.

Im sure all the players will wait to see who the new coach is, the guy will come in and talk to them, they will like him, and they will start working with a new coach.

Thats how it worked at Colorado. There was talk of Burks and some others leaving, but nobody left. I cant really think of a situation where a coaching change resulted in mass exodus of existing players.

Can you?

He's terrible anyways, remember? He averaged 4 and 2 at Mississippi Southern or some place like that.

You have five years to play four. Only exceptions to that are medical hardships (plus the various rules conferences have about transferring to other conference teams).

He played two at Mississippi State. He sat one at OU. He's got two left to play. If he transfers to any other D1 school, he'll have to sit out another year unless the NCAA grants a waiver (and they don't for players leaving because a coach got fired).

Pretty safe bet he'll be at OU next year.

Didn't pilgrim sit out a year at Kentucky then Billy got fired and ended up transferring to osu. He got to play right away

Pilgrim's case was unique in that Calipari basically rescinded his scholarship. He did not choose to leave Kentucky because his coach was fired. He transferred because he had no choice.

I doubt Osby will be in the same situation.

And for those who think osby is gonna be great because capel hyped him up all the time. Let's not forget who the source is. Capel doesn't know how to evaluate talent. For all we know osby is a nick Thompson wanna be

Sawyer is right, Pilgrim got the boot and that's why the NCAA let him play. Really doubt the new coach gives Osby the boot.

Osby's FB status (no I'm not his "friend")..."Lord help me through this! Time to grind even harder now!"

Sounds to me like he is going to work harder for OUr new coach...

How is that substantially different from those that arevsure hebis the answer?

I'm only making light of the people who are relying solely on his stats from MSU to predict the kind of impact he'll have at OU.

I doubt he'll be a great player, but I betcha' he averages close to a double-double.

In my book a double double is a. Great player. 10+ points and 8+ boards is a great player. I hope he is a great player. I am just worried because Capel said Ray Willis had the potential to play in the NBA and that Pledger was the best shooter he has ever seen.

I'm thinking 12 and 10 for Osby next season. You have to remember, we're an awful rebounding team so Osby will eat up a bunch of boards simply because no one else will.

I've yet to hear one person speak badly of his game, call me crazy, but i'm buying the hype.

it is strange to call a role player from MSU our "program savior".

makes me sigh about how low we have sunk.
