Texas and Iowa State have both found Shaina difficult to handle. We did well against both when we got into a more open court game. They both had better size. We did OK with just Maddie in the middle, or Maddie and Mandy. Gabbi on Carlton by choice. Carlton scored, but shot poorly. LaNesia is also better in an open court. At times, this team reminds me of the one that won the Big Twelve with Dionnah Jackson and Maria, although not quite enough. But, there is the capability to go to set or open court.
Tennessee barely beat Texas in Knoxville. They trounced Kentucky in Lexington. Texas did what I expected against West Virginia. I think they won by 21. It wasn't that close. Texas pulled the starters after holding a consistent 25-30 point lead. WV was no match.
OU SOS is still #3. We are #32. Texas is #5. UConn is #1.
Once we got that lead out to 8-10, IS never tied it again. They scored to get within one twice. But, we exploded back out to about 8 pretty quickly. Hitting threes made a difference---too late.
