Is lighting it up in Huntington.

In the recent game vs Cincinnati, he had 3 points and 6 rebounds with 0 blocks, 2 TO's and 2 assists. All 3 points were scored on FT's.

For the season, he's averaging 9.8 points and 5.2 rebounds. His points avg may be skewed a bit as he had highs of 13 vs Alabama State, and 12 vs Jacksonville State.

Marshall is 5-0 so maybe Cline was making a good move when he left OU to go to Marshall.

I suspect Goff would have helped us on the court moreso than Arent, this year.

I also "get" why LK didn't want to wait around on the kid. First, we needed to fill that scholarship with somebody that would contribute immediately. The longer we waited on Goff, the less likely our chances of landing somebody decent should Goff not qualify. Also, LK seems like a no nonsense kind of guy. I don't expect him to go after a bunch of kids that are having difficulties qualifying. We've had enough bad eggs on campus lately, LK was probably winning to potentially sacrifice a little talent, to get a kid he knew wouldn't cause him problems.

So, he has been better than Casey Arent

Can you really say this? Wouldn't it depend on playing time and a lot of intagnible things like blocking out, setting screens, passing, and defending. I think Casey Arent is helping this team. I think he will improve and be even more helpful next season. I personally think Henry will have to work hard to take minutes from him. I hope Henry does because it means the team is better but Arent is playing his role in an acceptable manner.

Henry and Arent aren't really competing for the same minutes. Henry is a 3/4 in the mold of Neal/Osby. Arent is a center.

I personally don't expect Henry to contribute much next year. He is an athletic kid, but he isn't overly skilled at this point. Also needs to add some size, probably. I expect him to be MUCH better later on in his career, then immediately.

Goff graduated high school, spent a year in prep school, spent 3 years in junior college, and is now playing at Marshall. Guy is like 26 years old and still isnt good.

10 pts and 5 reb are decent numbers for a newcomer to Div 1. I defintely think he would be better than Arent. He's quicker and more athletic from what I've seen.

I would love to see one of our post subs come and and get us 8 - 10 pts every night.

This is in magical fairy land where every starter averages at least 15 points per game and key reserves average 10.

He turned 22 a couple of weeks ago.

According to the espn box score he had 11 pts against cincy on 4-5 fg. I didn't see the game or anything so it may be wrong, but that's what it shows.

Look at the level of teams he's played so far (Alabama State, Jacksonville State, Northwestern State (LA), UNC Wilmington, Cincy). I'd like to revisit this when he's in the conference season to see how he matches up against other C-USA teams, or better non-conference foes. They play Syracuse in the next week or so, and that will be interesting to see how he does.

As far as the schedule we have played vs the Marshall schedule, our schedule is tougher. I think Idaho State, and the 3 foes we played in Anaheim are all better than Alabama State, Jacksonville State, N'Western State (LA), and UNC Wilmington. I would say SLU is better than Cincy and maybe so is Wazzu.

Wasn't Goff a grade risk?

Maybe LK decided he had to get someone that he knew was going to be eligible so he passed on him for Arent.

I can't argue with that thinking, if that's the case.

I went through it pretty quick. But, based on rebounds/points per minute played so far this season. "IF" Arent was getting 25 minutes per game he would be averaging about 8 points and 8 rebounds per game.

So, if anyone wants to say Goff is better. Fine. But, it sounds like it is another one of those statements of fact, when no facts currently exist.

Not to mention Kruger gets a bonus if the team has at least a 3.0 GPA

That is not how statistics work.

Mr. Genius: That is Exactly how NBA Coaches and Management evaluate players. Points, rebounds, assist, turnovers, ect. per minute played. Production per minutes played is the only accurate way to evaluate a player statictially.
Do you have any more questions or is there anything else I could help you with this evening?

They also use common sense, something you clearly lack. NOBODY grades players like you are attempting to do. It's much easier for a guy that isn't very good to play quality basketball for 5 minutes a night, as opposed to 15 minutes a night. You can't just take everybody's averages, and increase them exponentially, and expect that to hold up. That isn't logical. Players get tired, and exposed with increased minutes. They get put in situations that they aren't suited for. Not sure why I'm even explaining this to you. If you don't already "get it", you likely never will.
