Pritchard & prospect

It would be nice to get an elite power forward come in with Pritchard.

My gut tells me at least one of the high-profile bigs OU is in on in 2016 will join Payton in Norman next summer.

One thing I like about Payton Pritchard is that he's more than a point guard who is good at distributing the ball. He can score with the best of them if need be. Six of eight from behind the arc makes him an elite level shooter in my book!

Pritchard -- who usually plays on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit with Team Fast -- went for 24 points and four rebounds of his own while moonlighting for Rotary. One of the nation's premier shooters, Pritchard made 9-of-13 field goal attempts overall and six of his eight three point attempts.

I heard he will be in Norman at the end of December.

I can't imagine he would leave his basketball team in the middle of his senior season. Haven't they won 2-3 straight Oregon state championships? I think he would want to finish with his teammates. I can understand a football player graduating in December because their season is finished.

I don't know. Someone close to the program told me this.

might ask for an update. I know he and his dad looked into graduating early and coming to Norman early, but after looking into it they decided to stick to the original timeline. Now that was when they were looking at an entire year early, not a semester, but as others have said, it doesn't make as much sense in basketball as it does football

Exactly. It makes zero sense for basketball. Is the thought that getting here early, he would play half a season? Then he would miss the second half of his senior year? Help me out.

I guess he could redshirt and learn the system during the second semester. That would be good for OU, but bad for his HS team. He's going to backup Woodard whenever he's ready to play. He could help our team a lot next year or the year after. When Woodard graduates, it's his team.

It's a good thing we have a player like Pritchard coming in. Hope our young guys develop this next season because we are going to lose quite a bit after next year.

Cousins, Buddy, Spangler, Walker will graduate.
