Game tips off today at 3pm. It will be televised on FSSW / FCSC.

Sooners go for their 7th straight conference win to stay in a first place tie with Baylor.

I have to go to a family function at 2:30 today, so I can't make the arena, dang it.

I'm taping the game, so I'm turning off my phone then so I cant be tempted to find out the score before I can get back and witness the game for myself.

I blame Sherri for this. She is the head coach. LOL

Amber Battle 5-9 Sr G
Kelsi Baker 6-0 Sr F
Minta Spears 5-10 Soph G
Dayo Olabode 6-2 Fr F/W
Rayven Brooks 6-0 Jr G

Ivonne CookTaylor 5-8 Soph G
Jamie Roe 5-10 Jr F

Nobody else scores more than two points per game. As Sherri said, Battle and Baker are good. Spears 492 and Brooks 341 can hit the three. Battle is their best rebounder, followed by Olabode and Baker.

Sherri said they were playing better. They lost to Kansas in Lubbock, and it was a second half collapse.

I think this may be by twenty.

Let's hope so. Do not lose focus today, ladies. Go for the jugular in the first 4-minutes of every half, just as you said the plan has been.

:D
I couldn't make it to Norman today, so I'll just have to harass you long distance via the interwebz. :)

Everyone on the team will launch a three from time to time. If a couple of them get on a roll, it'll just encourage all the others to try it.
Minta Spears, supposedly our most prolific long-range shooter, has been a bit cold lately.

Our offense has been struggling, but this team is usually pretty good on defense. I don't expect any triple-digit scores.

I thought the problem that led Tech to blow the lead against Kansas was that they did put up the three too often, especially those who don't generally make them. Tech didn't work the ball inside anywhere near enough. Let KU have the interior. I tend to expect a score of about 75-53. I don't think Tech will run with OU, and I don't think Sherri will keep the hammer down if OU gets a lead. I anticipate that we will see a lot of subs if the lead is twenty by 10:00. We need to see what LaNesia, Vivi, McKenna, and Shaya will do. Still looking for another player or two who can contribute.

Our bigs were in foul trouble in the first half. I think we just gave them the middle after that. We didn't have the height to compete with them inside. Trying to is what got us in foul trouble.

Kelsi Baker, believe it or not, after her junior year, was #3 all-time in Lady Raider career 3-point percentage. Didn't take that many, but made a good percentage of them. Her 3-pt shooting percentage isn't near that good this season. She's been taking more, missing more, but still better at them that you'd expect an inside player to do.

All this talk about so-and-so lead at such-a-time sorta creeps me out. I just want the Sooners to play the game they've been playing all year. The rest will sort itself out.

BTW, the WVU-KU game is very entertaining. Tied with 12:46 left, Montgomery just hit a long range shot for a two point lead. KU is at the line now for 2.

Tied at 12:14, WVU score at 12:01, followed by a KU hoop seconds later.

Tied at the TO.

Kansas 51, West Virginia 48, 8:08 to play.

Crowd is really getting into it. KU hit a 3 followed by a WV 2, and the Jayhawks just hit an inside runner WITH a foul shot upcoming after the break.

They could lead by 8 with around 7 minutes left. That first conference win has lit their engine.

Missed FT from KU, lead was actually 6. Nobody can hit from outside! KU with the ball and a 6 point lead at about 6:30.

YCN, you were one of only three who picked KU in Pick 'em.

57-50 KU at 6 minutes.

KU's defense has been excellent in the 2nd half.
