Texas' Tristan Thompson turning pro

I was impressed with Thompson, but I don't believe he's ready for the NBA. Like so many other players in college basketball today, this kid has an inflated opionion of his own worth. This trend of kids leaving school when they have little or no chance of making an NBA roster has a sleazy feel to it. If allowed to continue it may kill college basketball.

Now I'll get down off my soapbox and let the experts take over.

This is actually old news. Hamilton is also going pro. Texas is going to be a much different team next year. They lose Thompson, Hamilon, Gary Johnson, Dogus Balbay, Lucas, Matt Hill and Chapman. That is a lot to replace. I think it is about 133 minutes of pt from a possible 200. The only guys returning with much experience are Corey Josehp, J'Covan Brown and Wangmene. I have seen some claims that Balbay and Lucas are eligible for a 5th year but I am not sure that is accurate.

How so? It's a weak draft, why not go?

Good chance Dogus Balbay gets a sixth year.

PG: Corey Joseph
SG: J'Covan Brown
SG: Sheldon McLellan
PF: Alexis Wangmene
C: Matt Hill?

That is a LOT less intimidating than they have been.

The whorns will be a shadow of what they were last year with those players out of the rotation. I'm thrilled for those guys, hope they all go pro! :D

Balanced schedule and a lot of talent going pro. Big 12 should be wide open next year.

Yep, I keep saying it:

1.) Kansas
2.) Texas A&M
T3) Everyone else

Nope.

kansas loses far too much to be considered that far above everyone else. They're right in the mix with the other 9 teams.

Is there STILL a possibility of a couple of their incoming recruits having eligibility issues? Didn't I read that a few weeks ago?

Do they all have agents? Can't they come back if they don't hire an agent?

You see the class UT is bringing in? They'll finish in the top 3 of the Big 12 for sure.

they still in the running for Deandre Daniels no ? (hopefully not since he already decommitted from UT).

Even money he ends up at Kentucky I think.
