Thoughts on Assistants

Is that the guy who was associate head coach at Arkansas last season? If so, that seems an oddly lateral (or worse) move for him.

Worse? Ou is a better job.

Hogs been 3/4 ncaa tournaments since 2008.

Plus mussleman is a dick.

Until compliance finds something wrong with him too even though no rules have been broken

It would generally be considered a downward move if you're giving up an associate head coach position for a regular assistant gig (though perhaps Moser's promised him a similar position at OU). I agree OU is a better program, but it's not as though he's moving from a middling program to a blue blood.

But if Musselman's that poisonous, I get it.

Also, OU would be his seventh gig since 2005. I hope he's looking to settle in for a while.

Heard the name David Patrick as the 3rd assistant

It would make sense that they are waiting on a specific date because I know Crutchfield had a buyout when he left Arky....they waived it when he went to ECU, however.

I'm sure they won't if he went to a P5.

May 1. Not signed yet but close.

If we land the arky Coach then wow! That is a championship coaching staff. It is hard not to get too excited rn.

Can agree on the last part, Musselman is notoriously demanding and hard to work under...but he gets results. Just not for everyone.

Arkansas has made some awful hires in basketball lately but still has the fan support, facilities and tradition to be a top 15 team every year IMO. No reason Hogs shouldn't be around the 3rd best program in the SEC. Even under Mike Anderson most years the attendance was nearly top 10 in the country. Hopefully Muss is starting to bring it back.

I am so stoked about this staff. Moser has done a fantastic job of building a staff and also kudos to JC for making the resources available to get it done.

"Most recently, Patrick was named to the coaching staff for the Australian National Team for this summer's Tokyo Olympic Games."

Interesting. Nice way to get a look at a bunch of international talent.
