Two games at the Peake

It does explain that Express Ticket option on another thread from a few weeks ago

When I first saw the headline I thought maybe it would be games during winter break, when students are hard to get anyways

Do you think it will be more lucrative to play in OKC? Or they are just counting on getting more people to attend?

Hopefully it boosts turnout for Tech. Obviously way easier for more people to make it to the Peake than LNC on a Tuesday night.

Not just a Tuesday night, but 8 pm on a Tuesday night.

It’s for getting fans to the game. There is virtually no student attendance. It is much easier for people in OKC and Edmond to make games at the Peake. It will hurt Norman fans though.

I just hope it doesn't hurt the team's performance. I'd rather have them playing in the arena they're most familiar with -- we need those shots to fall against Tech.

Non-con games under the guise of neutral site games in OKC or Tulsa are awesome. Sacrificing home Big 12 games to play in OKC is beyond absurd. Can you imagine that conversation? OU: "Hey Tech, cool if we move our game scheduled in Norman to somewhere else"? Tech: "Can't tell if serious..."

Also, the NCAA considered both the USC and Wichita State games in Tulsa and OKC to be home games for quadrant purposes. So there was no benefit from that end either.

I’m not a fan of giving up a conference home game to play in OKC. Non-conference games are fine. We shouldn’t be giving up a conference home game tho.
