Wildcats storm past Sooners in third quarter

Kansas State used a strong third quarter to throttle Oklahoma, 92-74, in Manhattan, Kansas on Saturday.

The Sooners (10-9, 3-4 Big 12) trailed 45-41 at halftime but Kansas State (8-9, 2-4, Big 12) went on an 11-0 run in third period and outscored the Sooners 28-16 in the quarter. The Sooners were never closer than eight the rest of the game.

Three Kansas State players scored 20 points or more as Peyton Williams led all scorers with 24. Ayoka Lee had 23 points and 20 rebounds and Angela Harris added 20 for the Wildcats.

Madi Williams led Oklahoma with 20 points while adding four rebounds, two steals and two assists. Gabby Gregory had 15 points and nine rebounds. Taylor Robertson scored 13 points but was just 3 for 12 shooting from the field.

Oklahoma played without starting guard Ana Llanusa who has now missed five straight games due to back spasms.

The Sooners return to action Tuesday against Texas (13-6, 5-2 Big 12) in Norman. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
