Will any Sooners make All-Conference?

Wouldn't shock me at all to not have a 1st team guy. Hield is the only shot at that, and he has some stiff competition.

We should land a couple of guys on the 2nd and 3rd teams though. Hield if he doesn't make 1st. Spangler. Probably Clark.

I don't see Woodard or Cousins making those teams. Woodard should make the All Freshman team though.

Isn't he wrong about our needing KSU to lose a game? We do need ISU to lose once. But if we win out, I believe we have a tie breaker with everyone by beating Texas twice. Am I right in my thinking? That would give us the 2 seed but not necessarily sole possession of 2nd place.

I think Buddy Hield will get second-team, but Clark and Spangler will likely have to settle for "Honoroable Mention."

I couldn't help but go down memory lane with this topic. In 2001, OU did not have a 1st team, 2nd team or 3rd team All-Conference member. Right before the conference tournament, a less-than-happy Kelvin Sampson said: "I'm surprised they're letting us play in the conference tournament." Apparently, that was a motivating factor as OU won it that year.

I hope no one takes this out of context or take anything away from our guards...

Spangler is probably our MVP, what he does every night... Im not sure there are many in the country what he does for our team. Post defense on all these all conf players.

Dang near a double double avg.

Agree with Hield and Spangler, I think Clark is going to have to play really well these next 3 games to get in on the 3rd team. I agree Woodard should make the Freshman team, but who do you leave out?
Woodard-OU
Taylor-UT
Foster-KSU
Wiggins-KU
Embid-KU
Selden-KU

My guess is Selden, but either way it's going to be tough to leave one of them off.

Do they typically just pick the five best players for all freshman or do they fill out a roster? The all conference team has 2-3 G and 2-3 bigs right? Is that just coincidence?

A simple solution is to change the rules and say if you make First Team All Conference you are not eligible for All-Freshman because it you clearly exceed that level. I don't mean to take any thing from Embid or Wiggins but do they really need the honor of All-Freshman when they earn the better honor of All-Conference?

I agree, Coach. Without Ryan, we're probably a NCAA bubble team at best.

No all-conference guys and a second-place finish in the best conference in America..

This is an embarrassing article. It lacked basic fact checking and proof reading.

Kansas State loses at least one game — the Wildcats host KSU, go to Stillwater and host Baylor.

KSU not need to lose a game for us to get second place and they certainly aren't playing themselves.

And Smart is the Big 12′s best player. He’s had a disappointing year, but only because of the ridiculously high standard he set for himself and because of the suspension. He’s a remarkable player.

This is a nearly indefensible position.

I think the freshmen usually just pick the 5 best but if it's a toss up I would think they would pick the player where there isn't much depth on the all freshman team.

If OU and KSU both win out and finish tied alone together (Texas and ISU have different records), then KSU would win the tie-breaker over us due to their win against Kansas. I don't think that he worded it right. He probably should've referenced the Big 12 tournament seeding.

Now if it gets crazy and is a 3 or 4-way tie, then I'm not sure who comes with the 2-seed, 3-seed, etc....just depends on who has beaten who between the three or four teams.
