worried about this game

I am concerned about Huggy's pressure on the ball. Aside from Woodard I dont think ballhandling is a particular strength of this team. The fact we are guard-oriented makes it a bit better - but I think we end up with a lot of turnovers and few runouts.

You called it. Spot-on I might add. We really struggled with their pressure and made some really bad miscues and they seemed to happen in bunches. I was disappointed we didn't get many fast break opportunities against their press like a few years back when we ran them out of the gym.

Ballhandling is definitely one of our bugaboos this year. I just hope we can get that shored up before we go to Morgantown or that game will get ugly. Ames is first though.

My thoughts exactly. They mugged Kansas constantly with no calls.

That would be called "karma." Huggins knows the officials are not going to call everything, even on the road. If they only get called for 7 more fouls than their opponent, they'll win most games. They would have won yesterday had our boys not done such a great job at the FT line.

My only issue with the officiating yesterday was on the Woodard "foul". That's a call you would expect a ref who does grade-school games get right nearly 100% of the time...calls don't get any easier than that. The good news is that the official will get a 3rd degree butt-chewing from his boss.

Let's not lose sight of the real reason this game was so close - we made exactly 1 out of every 3 shots we threw up. That wasn't the refs fault.
