2024 2 Signees 1 open ship offers/prospects

Re: 2024 offers/prospects

Was at a function last night and someone with ties to Dale was too. Someone asked where Forsythe was going to go and he said he didn’t know. But he did say he thought it was down to OU, OSU, and Wichita State. Said he thought he liked the OSU trip the best, but he didn’t act like he felt that was the deciding factor, just said it as a statement.

Also, the expectation right now is he wants to commit this summer.

Just passing along what he said. Nothing earth shattering, but I thought it was still interesting.

Oklahoma: “Coach (Porter) Moser has been recruiting me since like eighth or ninth grade. So we have grown really close. He has watched me grow as a player, and I’ve watched him grow as a coach. It’s cool to have that kind of relationship.”

Oklahoma: “That visit was great. Coach Moser, I think he has a great playing style and he has a plan for me if I go there. With his plan for me if I go there I could do a lot of things to help the team and help me develop.”

Oklahoma: “So what’s standing out to me the most with them is how much they want me there. They’ve expressed that a lot. I’ve been to some of their games. I feel like I will fit into their play style of play well, especially with the way they use pick-and-roll reads and their mentality on the defensive end. I talk regularly with Coach (Ryan) Humphrey and Coach (Porter) Moser.”

Would love to feel like we have any shot, but looking at the other schools, it feels like “one of these things is not like the others.” I hope he isn’t just keeping us on the list as a courtesy to Moser.

Bama isn't a better program than OU unless you're looking at just the past couple of seasons (and even there, we've got scoreboard--we've beaten them twice in the past three years). Since 2007, they've made the NCAA tourney just five times.

But the problem is that he will be playing college basketball in the present, not the distant past. They are miles ahead of us right now, as much as that sucks to admit. Any elite player with his choice of schools would have to take a leap of faith to choose us if they want to win, since we haven’t even managed to make the tourney under the current staff.

Two years, even to a teenager, is not the distant past. Ten years, sure, but not two. Bama is 0-2 vs. OU over the past three years and they've had a few scandals of late. OU's recruited some high school talent that will be established by the time he arrives in Norman. That positive spin was off the top of my head; surely Coach Moser can improve on it.

I'm not saying OU will get him--I'd guess we probably won't--but sheesh.
