I was in a computer programming class last year and saw a guy in front of me reading OUhoops.com... I looked a little closer and he was reading one of my posts! I had never met him before, but I let him finish it (it was something about K-State) and asked him how long he has read OUhoops.com. He said that he reads it everyday, then I told him who I was.

He said, "YOU are thebigabd?!?!?"... He often disagrees with me, but enjoys reading my posts.

Pretty strange encounter.

As for this SUV, no idea. What town is that in?

Problem was the guy was just destroying the recaps I used to write. I mean wailed the tar out of them. I kept my identity to myself, but I never wrote another one.

I published a book in 2000, and while the experience overall was every bit as satisfying as I'd hoped, the one thing that never happened (aside from a movie deal) that I would have thoroughly enjoyed was coming across someone I didn't know -- on the subway, sitting on a park bench, wherever -- who was reading my book.

Could still happen, I suppose, but the odds are against it.

Not sure I'd want to stumble upon someone reading Sooner-related posts, though.

It was probably a little easier to write them when you knew OU was going to at least be decent most games.
