I think you just lean into Fears and Moore and surround them with whoever can defend the opponent. Whether that's playing the best defenders or rotating a lot of guys to play hard on defense for shorter periods, that's going to be the main way to have a chance of success with this group.

Our defense is terrible and we have no rim protection.

I think you do two things:
1. Fire the head coach.
2. Don't ever hire another mid-major flash in the pan.

2 man game will only get you so far. Especially with Moore that seems to disappear for a half at a time

Pretty amazing to realize that in our first home game, we got a 34-pt outing from a role player, and last night we got a 26-pt HALF from Moore … and managed to lose both. Loser can’t even win the games when the easy button is working.

Eerie how both MBB and football have the same issues. Within a game, long stretches of incompetence/apathy/laziness, many times followed by herculean comebacks/aggressive/winning play, followed by more incompetence and finding a way(s) to lose. Last night, total crap show for 25 minutes, then of course get the fans' hopes up only to find ways to lose at the end, dashing them. Again, it's like someone somewhere is messing with us pulling levers behind a curtain and laughing at the fans. Unreal. I guess the Wizard of Oz or whoever wanted to throw us a bone a few times... basketball Alabama last year, football Texas last year, then football Alabama this year. I guess that's all we get.. The really sad thing is is how you can already tell it's causing fans to lower expectations. In football, fans clamoring for 8-4. Basketball, get to 5 wins in conference or whatever. Not too long ago we were going to playoffs repeatedly and going to Final Fours. Some 5,6 but all less than 10 years ago. What a precipitous drop for a proud brand. Sad!

A couple of bad hires will do that to you. Look at Nebraska. But on the flip side a good coach can change everything. Iowa Stare went 0-19 not too long ago. Now they’re really really good. NIL will always play a role but it starts with good coaching.
